You have seen those wholesale DVD Power seller icons on eBay. They are everywhere, even when an eBay power seller has to average a minimum of $1,000 in sales per month for a minimum of three consecutive months. That is a lot of auctions indeed!
And that amount of sales they are currently making today pretty much guarantees that many of those sellers are making a living through successful wholesaling. For those of you interested in learning how to do this on your own, here is some of the most important start-up knowledge and tools you should consider for becoming a successful power seller like many of us.
Big Time Secret #1: In order to get started in the right track, you need to learn how to do eBay research. While there are many paid tools you can use to cut your research time, learning how to do research on your own is highly recommended as it gives you a feel for what eBay itself has in competitor product lines and what is not important right now.
You can go to eBay home page as of today and on the left side of the main page, you will see multiple listing categories. Browse through them to locate the appropriate category for your desired niche. Then do a search on eBay for main keywords relating to that category and see how much popularity and competition there is for those certain words.
If your search results in over 20,000 or more listings for that certain keyword, niche or sub-niche, you know that you have potentially found a profitable niche. However, the drawback is that many times the competition is quite high.
Unless you are already a seasoned seller on eBay, you should probably not try starting your business in such highly competitive category since you are most likely to struggle or quit. This is not to say there is not money to be made in those niches, but they might not be the best place for you to start. Try finding smaller niches where your auctions will stand out and you can gain the experience necessary to complete with the big boys until you can become a routine continued seller without having to worry about running out of stock in product line.
By the way, do forget to look at the completed auctions section to see, what actually has sold, not just been offered for sale. That will give you a much clearer view of what is actually selling on eBay for sure whether it is wholesale DVD or kitchen supplies or other.
