Success in business is like a three-legged stool. With any one of the legs missing, the stool will fall over! Let's get right down to the real nitty-gritty, as the song says. Those three cornerstones are:
Faith
Action
Persistence
Faith is the unshaken belief that you will succeed. Do not hedge on this one. Your mind must be firmly fixed on success. It is very important to write down your goals, as this will set in your mind your exact and specific goals. It is not enough to say, "I want to make a lot of money in my network marketing business." How much money do you want to make this year? How many presentations do you plan to give? How many people will you share your offering with? Write these and more in black and white and post them in a prominent place in your home, your office, your car.
Make a vision board. Cut out pictures from magazines and group them on your board. Use a picture of a house similar to the one in which you want you and your family to live. The swimming pool you want for yourself and your children. A picture of Paris in the spring, if you want to take your wife to Paris for a vacation.
Action is absolutely necessary to succeed. It is not enough to dream and plan. Each day, begin just one thing that will forward you to success in your business. It may just be a call to a prospect. It may be practicing a demo over and over until you feel you have it right. It may be organizing the material for your business on your computer. This is your JOB! Make a decision as to the best place to begin and BEGIN! It matters not where you have been in the past, start where you are. John Burroughs said, "The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive. The great opportunity is where you are."
If you want to travel from Atlanta to Chicago, it is first an idea in your mind. Then you make preparations. Then you get in the car and drive there, or go to the airport and get on a plane. Action is the step that moves you from Point A to Point B.
Persistence is the third and very necessary element to success. You may not QUIT! Remember that when you hit your lowest place, there is nowhere to go but up. Picture yourself taking just one more step and creating a landslide of success, a succession of events that lead you to your dreams and goals. Think of how many times Thomas Edison failed before he created a light bulb that worked. Think of how many times Abraham Lincoln lost elections and failed in his personal life before becoming elected the most revered president of all time.
Failure is only a prelude to success. Think of a child learning to walk. He doesn't give up, no matter how long it takes.
There are many elements to success. These three are paramount. Print this article out and read it every day. Have Faith. Take Action. Have Persistence. You WILL succeed!
Warm regards,
Gloria
