How Brochures Can Be Done

Posted: Sep 05, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

Brochure printing is done in simple easy steps, listed below are areas you need to focus on when creating your brochure.

1. Brand.

Is your company brand ready? Do people know you already? If not than you might need to strategize and study branding. Your company must reflect what you want, your ideals, your goals and the general thrust of where you are going.

2. Ideas.

Put together all your ideas. Make sure everything is in order. Think about how you want it to look like and list them all down.

3. Draw.

Draw out a plan, layout all your text and pictures. This will make the job of the designer a little easier because it will clearly point out where and how you want your brochure to look like.

4. Designer.

Seek the professional talent of the designer. Let them polish or edit your drawing. Open yourself to their ideas and listen, remember that these people are professionals so they understand what they are doing and have done quite a lot more than you did in this line of work. Ask them if they can give you at least three versions you can choose from and give them a definite deadline so your printing has enough time before you really need it.

5. Printer.

Of all the things you need to take time to do this is the one. Research the printers background and the customer feedbacks before rushing to sign a contract with the printer. Remember that your printer must be reliable at all times, happy to serve you anytime, has a lot of available options, can give you a substantially low price quote and has exceptional printing quality. They must always meet deadlines too so be sure to check with previous clients if a lot of them received their prints on time.

6. Wordings.

Draft your text, be succinct, in other words: keep it short. Remember that this is not a novel with so much writing space. Just include the informative ones and if you can make it easy for the people who love to scan, use bullet points rather than a paragraph.

7. Fonts.

Choose simple fonts and not the over the top ones that have too much going on in every letter. Make sure it is easily understood and is in the proper size. Not too larger since it needs to fit your page and not to tiny for people to have difficulty reading it.

8. Pictures.

One of the most enticing areas of every brochure is a picture. Try to limit yourself to only a few as it may over crowd the brochure and the text may not fit. Make sure your pictures are well photographed and that it puts your company in a good light. Your picture must tell the story without having the need to say anything.

9. Folds.

Folds differ from every printer; they may call a certain fold another thing while the other printer call is differently. The brochure folds that are most often used are ones folded in half, folded into four parts, one that is folded into four but opens like a gate and one that is shaped like an accordion. Inquire what your printer offers and see which one works well with your content.

10. Gloss or Matte.

To add a little shine and protection to the brochure, you can have gloss or matte included in your prints. Should you be worried about Mother Nature, you can always request for a thinner coat of gloss.

Brochures not only talk about a company, it can also contain products and services. In fact you can even have a brochure for every product or service you have. Just make sure you have everything in order before the brochure printing starts.
