How to Make Extra Income Online

How to make extra income online is a question I see a lot these days. In the paragraphs below I will share the exact technique I use everyday to consistently make an extra $800 - $1,000 every month promoting just one product.

Six months about I was about to give up on Internet Marketing due to not making any money online leading me to believe that Internet Marketing was just a huge scam to take people’s money.

In August 2007 I ran across a website that offered a membership to teach you step-by-step how to become a successful Internet Marketer. After days of reviewing their site I decided to give it one more shot. Boy was I glad I did, that same week I began to make real sales by applying several simple techniques learned from this website. I cannot describe the excitement and amazement I felt when I made my first $30 sale.

Now I knew Internet Marketing was real and I could make money online but enough about me and my success…let’s get to how to make extra income online and the techniques that really work.

There are hundreds of ways to market online but I want to share with you one of my favorite. This method does not require any money just your time so anyone can apply it and make money doing so.

One of my favorite methods is called Article Marketing. This is done be writing an article related to a product or service you want to promote. For example, let’s say you want to promote Anti-Spyware software. You could write a review about the features and benefits of that particular software. People like to read reviews and get other people’s opinions before making a purchase.

Once you have written your article you will submit it to Article Directories. This is a free service. Thousands of websites offer weekly newsletters or have blogs they need fresh content for. Instead of writing countless articles every week people use Article Directory services to get fresh content. If your article relates to their audience then your article may get used in their newsletter. Many have an audience of tens of thousands. So as you can see your article could potentially be read by thousands.

Here is how you make sales with articles. Article directory services provide you with an “Author Box” for each article you submit. This box can be used to write an advertisement for your product or service with your affiliate link. People who want more information will click on your link which directs them to your products sales page. If they purchase the product you receive a handsome commission.

So here is how to write your articles and get them listed on the first page with Google and Yahoo.

1. You need a product or service first to promote. Signup as an affiliate at ClickBank.com. This is also free.

2. Once you have signed up login and click on “MarketPlace”. Search for a product that you would like to promote. Try to select a product that pays you at least $25 per sale and has a gravity score higher then 70. This tells you that other affiliates are making sales with this product.
3. Now that you have your product you will need to research keyword phrases that people use to search for the product.

4. Open a web browser and go to Google.com. Use Google to target a phrase that has between 1000 to 5000 results. For example, let’s use our spyware software example above. If you were promoting anti-spyware software and wanted to write an article you would do a search for “How to protect your PC from spyware”. Always use quotes when searching for phrases. As you can see at the top right corner there are 2270 pages using that same phrase so getting listed on the first page will be easy due to the low amount of pages. The lower the number of pages the easier to dominate top position for that phrase.

5. Take your phrase and use it as your title for your article. Here is a tip: use titles that are catchy and spark interest. Research what people want and how your product can solve their problem. Write an article providing them valuable information that helps solve their problem. You will get much better results if you help people rather then just try to make a sale. In other words don’t write a sales article.

6. Next make sure to use the phrase several times in your article. This will help you get better rankings with the search engines for your phrase.

7. Once you have completed your article you can use the “Author Box” to write a catchy one or two sentences about your product and provide your affiliate link to the merchants website. Now when your article gets published, people can click on your link to get additional information and hopefully purchase the product or service you are selling.

8. That’s it!

The key thing to be successful with Article Marketing is to write many articles not just a few and don’t get discouraged if you have not made any sales. I suggest writing at least one article a day. You may not make any sales with the first 10 but it may be that next article that gets picked up by a website that has 50,000 subscribers to their newsletter and now your article is in front of 50,000 readers. You could wake up in the morning and have made 10 sales in your sleep. This is no joke…it really does happen just like that so keep at it and you will begin to make sales.
