Thanksgiving is The New Christmas for Gift-Giving!

Typically, Christmas is the number one holiday for exchanging gifts. Some people even search year-round to find quality gifts to give to loved ones, and most of us expect useful presents in return. This is why most companies use Christmas as the time to give out employee gifts. However, in the past several years many businesses have decided to distribute corporate gifts during Thanksgiving instead of Christmans. Here are some good reasons why your company should consider doing the same.

  • Unlike the Christmas, Thanksgiving is a neutral, non-denominational holiday that is appropriate for a culturally-diverse workforce. Instead of alienating certain employees by choosing holidays affiliated with religion, giving gifts during Thanksgiving will ensure that everybody is on equal footing. Now, all of your employees will appreciate your efforts to reward their work rather than a select group.

  • Thanksgiving offers the added benefit of shopping before the holiday gift rush, making it easier for employers to secure gifts without having to worry about backordered or out-of-stock products. As we all know, Christmas is notorious for slow shipments and crowded lines, making it difficult for both businesses and consumers to reinforce strong relationships by giving away gifts. People flood local malls and deplete warehouse inventories faster than any other time during the year, which complicates the process of finding proper gifts and makes it even harder to fulfill large orders for a group of employees. By giving gifts out during Thanksgiving, you can avoid these issues and make sure your transactions go as smoothly as possible.

  • Showing appreciation for your employees' efforts with a thoughtful gift during Thanksgiving will keep them motivated and working hard throughout the end of the year. Productivity tends to decline as the New Year and holiday vacations come to a close, so it's important that your company seeks to counteract this slowdown. Giving a valuable gift to your employees during Thanksgiving will provide them with an extra boost of motivation and will let them know that you care about fostering a rewarding work environment.

Giving customers and employees gifts during Thanksgiving is clearly a good time to further long-term relationships with your stakeholders. It's a festive time of year when people gather with those who are important to them and find things to be grateful for. There are plenty of good reasons to use Thanksgiving when it comes to holiday gift-giving; but neutrality, convenience, and employee motivation top the list. Make the switch this year and your business will reap the rewards of this special holiday.
