How Do I Save My Marriage From Divorce - 3 Steps in Avoiding Divorce

If you have asked yourself the question “how do I save my marriage from divorce” you have come to the right place! If your marriage is struggling, unhappy, or on the verge of divorce, you need to have the best information available at your fingertips. You need to know what factors could be working against your marriage right now, even if you see nothing wrong. Many people believe that their marriage is working fine until their spouse gives them the wake-up call.

In this article we will cover the question of how do I save my marriage from divorce with 3 easy steps to follow. Here they are...

Step 1. Communication. Men and Women speak differently. It has been said by professional counselors that men speak "blue" and women speak "pink". What does that mean you might ask?  Here is an example:

Woman: "Honey, I have nothing to wear tonight!" What she really means is: "Honey, I have nothing NEW to wear tonight!" And when men say "I have nothing to wear tonight" what they really mean is "I have nothing CLEAN to wear tonight". Blue and pink, saying the same thing but with different meanings behind them. We need to realize that  men and women speak the same language but in a different color. The trick is to communicate with your spouse without being color blind! The way to do this is to put on purple hearing aids. The next time when your spouse says something that makes you angry, stop, process it through your purple hearing aids and communicate with each other. Developing purple hearing aides can take some practice, but in the end it will help you understand what your spouse is  trying to communicate. This is talked about more in detail in a bit.

Step 2. Love and respect each other.

Women need to be loved. Women really need that special loving from their spouse. Men on the other hand need to feel respected. If men don't feel that their wives respect them then they tend to act in unloving ways to their wives. When women feel unloved they tend to not show their husbands respect that they desperately need. See the problem here? Once this cycle starts it just gets worse and worse! This cycle must be stopped. Someone must stop it by making a genuine effort to start loving their wife, or start respecting their husband. But who goes first? When I get asked who should take this first step to stop this cycle I reply "who ever thinks they are more mature". One really good way to take this first step is to ask your spouse if you have acted in an unloving way toward her in the past. Or ask him if I have acted in a disrespectful way toward him. You will be surprised at what you might have inadvertently caused without even knowing or meaning it! Love and respect each other.

Step 3. Get the tools you need to rebuild and strengthen your marriage.

Your marriage is important and is worth saving. It is an investment and you should treat it as such.
