Experienced men and women will agree with me that it is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages. Among the women folks, it is an open secret that the loneliest woman in the world is a woman without a close woman friend. During periods of crisis and challenges, confiding in trusted friends allays pains to a large extent. What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other? It is no wonder then that the Holy Bible acknowledged in the Book of Ecclesiasticus 6:14: that “A faithful friend is a strong defense: and he that hath found such an one hath found a treasure”.
