Sometimes it is all too easy to forget those closest to you and to take them for granted. This is especially true of your partner.
Every relationship needs nurturing. And often we behave like strangers towards the one persona we are meant to love most in our lives. How about slowing down a bit?
Stop and be present for your partner. Look at them when they are talking and really listen to what they are saying. Sometimes we may have to look behind the words to see what it is they are really saying.
If you are working late and your partner is grumbling that you are putting your work before him, listen to what they are really saying. Perhaps they want to say that they miss you and want to spend more time with you.
Take the time to look under the mask of what is really going on. It can be hard when you are both leading busy lives. Ensure you schedule in "couple time" so you have time to connect and enjoy each other's company together.
Instead of leading independent lives where you collapse into bed beside each other night after night.
When you are marching blindly ahead without investing love into your relationship it will go stale. It's not enough that you may be married.
Every day go out of your way to show your partner how much you appreciate them being in your life. They will be touched you are making an active effort and respond accordingly.
It's nice to know that you are doing what you can to enjoy each other now. You don't know what may happen in the future. And the worst thing you can do is postpone the enjoyment of each other.
Remember your partner in any way that feels good to you.
