Saving A Relationship..Save a Marriage,Stop A Divorce

If you have conflict in your relationship, no doubt you are feeling emotionally lost and possibly in shock. You feel as if you have been kicked in the stomach. The dreams you had about the future with him/her have suddenly and unexpectedly vanished. To save the relationship, both persons have to be willing to cooperate to make it work. Here are six tips you and your partner can follow to facilitate staying together:

1. Communicate, this is your number one strategy. Don't "clam up" and refuse to discuss the things that are wrong. Don't allow your hurt feelings to hinder any progress that may be achieved.

2. Face the fact that you are having problems. Don't be in denial, and try to convince your partner not to be in denial either.

3. Take responsibility for your part in the conflict. Normally both parties are at fault.

4. Try to discuss your problems someplace other than the "scene of the crime" . Go for a walk, go for a ride, or meet someplace away from home.

5. While you are working out the conflict, try not to repeat actions that you know annoy your mate. I know you are angry, but you want to keep a clear head so you can discuss your problems rationally.

6.Leave the past in the past. Don't keep rehashing things that have happened. You want to mentally look to the future. Problems are cumulative so try to only think from today on.

It may take time and effort to retrieve the relationship, but only you can decide if all the effort is worth it. If you have trust in the other person you can honestly discuss what you want out of life without recrimination from him or her. You have to be willing though to also listen to what he or she is telling you with an open mind.

Counseling can also be very helpful, but it is costly and often one or both of the partners is unwilling to attend. Wouldn't it be great if you could have a relationship expert advise you on what to do, no matter how hopeless, different, or difficult your situation appears to be? You can. There is help. There is a simple system that really works. You can find out about it by going to http://www.makearelationshipwork.com
