After all that’s gone into planning your big event, there’s one more important detail that you’ll need to address – choosing your Groomsmen Gifts. This doesn’t have to be a daunting task! In fact, it should be something fun and enjoyable for you. Consider these guidelines before you shop and you’ll be sure to choose the Groomsmen Gifts just right for your friends. You want them to be appreciated for all that they’re doing for you and this is your opportunity to do just that.
First off, consider how significant you would like the Groomsmen gifts to be? Are you doing other things to show your appreciation such as having a boy’s night out to say thanks for all of their help? This is different than the Bachelor party or trip – it is to specifically honor your special friends for taking on this responsibility of standing up for you on your special day. This isn’t something that is always done, but when there’s time for it and especially if your Groomsmen have been particularly involved (maybe you’re getting married at home and they’ve helped you to completely overhaul your garden or a similar task.) The Groomsmen gifts can range from being a simple token and reminder of their special role in your big event or it can be a deeply personal gift. You get to choose.
Next, consider your actual Groomsmen. Are they all about the same age or is there a difference between them? Is there something, besides you, which they all have in common – such as all being your fraternity brothers or working at the same company or having grown up in the same town? In cases where there is a common bond between them, there is often a fun solution for the Groomsmen Gifts that ties in with that. For example if your fraternity was something that brought you together and that is significant in your friendship, something with the Fraternity letters on it would be a natural and meaningful selection. On the flip side of this is a group of friends that truly are all different, but just have you in common. Perhaps they also span across generations as well with varying age ranges. This is often the case when family members are a part of the groom’s party. So you’ll want to take that into consideration as well when selecting your Groomsmen gifts – just something to be aware of and help to guide how you choose the actual gifts.
One final thing you want to consider once you’ve thought through the above two areas is how you’d like to approach selecting the actual gift. You can go one of two ways - you can choose something that is good for everyone, versatile enough to have meaning and/or be useful to each, or you can choose something unique for each person, like selecting a birthday gift. Either way is perfectly appropriate, it’s completely up to you. It is important however to make sure if you go the route of choosing unique Groomsmen gifts that you make sure they are fairly equal so nobody feels slighted.
In either case, the same gift for all of your Groomsmen or a unique selection, you want to consider the practicality of the gift when selecting as well. Someone who doesn’t drink or doesn’t smoke cigars is obviously not going to appreciate the flask that holds cigars as well as spirit no matter how cool it is to the others.
With these guidelines considered and your direction decided, you’re now ready to choose your actual Groomsmen gifts. With your criteria in mind, you can start looking and choose the Groomsmen gifts that fit your requirements easily because you’re prepared and know what you want. Remember this is something to remind your friends that you appreciate them and to thank them for being a part of your special event. Enjoy selecting and also remember you’re now one more step closer to the planning being done and the big day being here. Then, it’s on to the Honeymoon!

By: Amy Letitia | 10/12/2006 | Real Estate
Perhaps you’ve been watching HGTV and have gotten the itch to start working on things in your home but aren’t exactly sure where to start. Well, not every redesign project needs to involve a huge structural remodel. Launching into a full home redesign is not always an option – but there are ways that you can change your home’s look and feel without taking on a project too big to imagine. Sometimes a combination of one smaller structural change and some cosmetic design elements can make a world of difference. An example of this would be to retrofit your staircase or balcony with new elements, such as iron balusters and then work out from there for a new design style.
Planning for the Best Results No Matter What Curves Life May Bring - Emergency and Safety Supplies We All Should Have
By: Amy Letitia | 24/10/2006 | Health
It seems that recent times have given us so many reminders that we should all have at least the basic emergency and safety supplies in our homes and cars in the unfortunate event that we should ever need them. We've seen the disasters on television for some time now - major earthquakes, 9/11, tsunamis, hurricanes. It's sad but true that there are not only "Acts of God" but also acts of man that can leave us isolated and waiting for help to arrive. In many cases, with just the most basic assortment of emergency and safety supplies though, the waiting can be manageable and in some cases the difference between life and death. But those reminders and that knowledge alone is not enough - it's taking action now and getting your emergency and safety supplies together before you actually need them that could make a difference. Being prepared isn't expecting bad things to happen as some people think, it's planning for the best results no matter what curves life may bring.
Three Great Ideas for Choosing Fun and Meaningful Wedding Party Gifts
By: Amy Letitia | 24/10/2006 | Marriage
More and more couples are doing things a little differently for their weddings. Many couples have wedding showers co-ed style instead of the traditional girlie bridal showers and some couples are even having bridesmen and groomsmaids - attendants that stand up for them but break from the tradition of being of the same gender. Things like this may have shocked our grandparents, but these days weddings are becoming more personal and meaningful to the couple versus strictly following "how it's always been". So why not be a little different and plan your wedding party gifts together instead of the tradition of the Groomsmen gifts being left up to the Groom and Bridesmaid gifts being left to the Bride? These three great ideas will help get you on your way to choosing the perfect wedding party gifts for your special attendants.
