Although international matchmaking has been around for several decades, this phenomenon has been increasing since the advent of the Internet. They are rapidly proliferating all over the Internet; however the process is more complicated than most people realize. It's important that you learn as much as you can about it before registering with one of these services - not only the technical details, but also how to eliminate the bad apples who are seeking only green cards and have no intention of living with you as your wife.
Most of the online services will tell you all about finding an overseas bride and taking her home, but it is still smart to look around the Internet for objective opinions from writers who have no rea$on to convince you to consider taking an overseas bride. There are several questions you need to answer:
(i) How does the international matchmaking service work?
What are their rules? How does the process work? Do they sponsor international matchmaking tours? If so, what rules are in place restricting your contact with local women?
(ii)How can you find a quality candidate?
How do you separate the Good Eggs from the Bad Eggs? Don't get scammed by a beautiful scamstress.
(iii) What laws restrict the process in the woman's home country? The Philippines has outlawed international matchmaking, although that has hardly stopped it from happening.
(4) How can you get her past immigration in your home country?
It is best to seek the advice of an immigration lawyer rather than relying completely on the international matchmaking service.
(5) Which international matchmaking agencies are the best?
Some of these companies are scam artists, and others are legitimate. If you live in a major city, find one with a local office so you can arrange a personal meeting a representative. Find out about their system - some agencies prefer first contact by telephone, others prefer online contact, and a few even prefer face-to-face meetings.
