By: disabledvet | 15-08-2008
I filed for divorce and served my spouse where she wrote and stated she would accept service. when they went to serve her, she was no longer there but the people whom she stayed with got the sheriffs number for her. She called him and gave him an address and name in a different state (stating it was her lawyers info). I mailed them there and then called to confirm arrival a couple days later only to find out that person never worked there. I did however get a lady whom is a paralegal who has been counseling her who said she would get them to her. I just recently have been contacted by a sheriff in my state saying that he has divorce papers to serve me with. I called her paralegal to find out whats going on and all I got out of the crazy conversation was that she gave my spouse a copy but she herself hasnt reviewed them and would not be sending them back to me until she has. I told her it's illegal to hold my papers and advise my spouse to serve me. What do I do now?
