Magnetic therapy products are typically very durable and not at all delicate; however they also need some special care to ensure that they continue to work well for as long as you need them. Since by definition the items are metal that isn't easily damaged, however different types of usage or improper care can weaken the magnetic field and decrease it's effectiveness over time. Utilizing these few key tips will help you in the long run.
The magnets used in therapy are not the same that you might find at a hobby shop or even at some medical supply stores. These are specialized, containing ferrite as well as neodymium. Neodymium is considered to be a rare earth metal and is one of the unique elements found in advanced products. It is a very reactive metal that oxidizes very quickly in normal air so it is combined with other metals in more stable form to produce the final product used for alternative pain management. They are some of the most powerful known and thus making them so effective for use in pain management. The strength is used to create a gradient that promotes the changes at the cellular level needed to reduce aches and discomfort. They also have a very long half life, so there is no need to worry that it will wear out before you complete your treatment. The half life of products is 50 years, provided that you care for it properly.
The first good tip is to keep them away from other types of magnets or heavy metals. This includes those in your computer, your stereo and even in other types of electronic equipment. It is always best to remove them when working at your computer, both for the sake of the computer system as well as for the life of your pain management product. If you are careful, you will be able to prevent any damages to your expensive electrical equiptment.
The second good tip is to never wash them in the washing machine. Accidents do happen, but do everything in your power to prevent it from happening. They also need to be kept out of the dryer where the heat and tumbling action can cause damage. Of course the water itself in the washer won't hurt, but it will become stuck to sides of the washer tub and will be damaged. They can be cleaned in warm water with household dish soap, then thoroughly rinsed and patted dry with a cloth. The residue left over from the two sided tape used to adhere to your body can be removed with a little rubbing alcohol. Use a cotton ball of rubbing alcohol to rub off the sticky residue.
Tip number three, don't drop or bang them against anything, especially each other. Despite being metal and durable, dropping or hitting them will lessen their effectiveness over time. Keeping all alternative pain remedy products in a safe place, ideally away from other metals, is the best possible option to help ensure they will last.
There are many companies that have these pain management alternative products, but there are only a few that offer both research information as well as a guarantee and warranty on the product. If you are considering using them for pain management do some research and make sure you are buying the best possible product. Look for a warranty that they are free from defects as well as the assurance that if, for some reason, they don't work you will have the option to return them.
Finally it is important to read up on the property care for any magnetic therapy products. Following the instructions and taking the proper precautions to avoid damaging them will ensure they last a lifetime and effectively help you achieve relief from your pain.
