If you've been searching for a natural yeast infection remedy for women, you've probably read all kinds of advice on the Internet and in books about supposed drug-free treatments that work. You may be wondering which advice is real, what you can trust, and what you should avoid.
You may even have tried a few natural remedies with disappointing results. The fact is, not every natural treatment is effective, and some are extremely dangerous. Fortunately, there are real natural treatments that can effectively eliminate yeast for good.
Most yeast infection treatments just treat the symptoms of the condition anyway, without addressing the underlying cause. This means that over-the-counter medications, pills that your doctor prescribes, and even most natural health cures are simply bandages being used to cover up a bigger problem.
Unless the cause of the disease is illuminated, it's likely that the yeast infection will be back many times. Fortunately, yeast infections can be cured within 12 hours or less using a very effective and extremely safe natural remedy.
What you should avoid eating are those foods made with refined and simple sugars. This includes brown sugar, white sugar, raw sugar, molasses, grain sweeteners and honey. If you can't or don't want to exclude sweet tasting food from your diet you can use Stevia as a substitute. Eating a lot of raw garlic can be helpful. You should avoid drinking milk and alcohol. You should also avoid eating mushrooms, fruits and dried fruits.
It is important to avoid foods that contain mold or yeast. This includes cakes, muffins, baked goods, cheese, breads, melons, dried fruits and peanuts. Increasing your fiber intake can help. You can take one teaspoon to one tablespoon of soluble fiber which contains psyllium husks, guar gum, pectin and flax seeds. This can be mixed in an 8 oz glass of drinking water which should be taken two times a day. It is necessary to drink this during an empty stomach.
There are several factors that may have triggered your yeast infection and these include use of oral contraceptives, steroids, and antibiotics, diabetes, an irregular menstrual cycle, and pregnancy.
There are many ways to cure that bothersome infection and there are several home remedies for yeast infection that are just as effective as yeast infection medication.
Some effective home remedies you can try out involve tampons.
Twice daily, insert a tampon, covered with yogurt, in your vagina. Continue doing this until one day after your symptoms have cleared up.
No one is really aware of how important their intestinal health is until they need to change it, and that's not until they start suffering from the symptoms above. For some women it can takes months or years to get their health back because they don't realize that it's just a matter of changing their eating habits, and some lifestyle habits.
However, it is very important that you do not try and self diagnose yourself before attempting anything on your own. Be sure to consult your doctor to get a professional opinion.
