These problems may be less likely to occur if blood pressure is controlled.

Accuretic Dosage

Accuretic is usually taken once a day. Your doctor will adjust the dosage and it depend on how your blood pressure responds.

Uses of Accuretic

*Quinapril HCl/hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat high blood pressure such as hypertension.
*Hydrochlorothiazide and quinapril may also be used for other conditions those listed in this medication guide.

Side Effects of Accuretic

Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Accuretic.

* Sore throat
* Stomach pain
* Upper respiratory infection
* Vertigo (loss of balance)
* Viral infection
* Weakness
* Abdominal pain
* Back pain
* Bronchitis
* Chest pain
* Cough
* Dizziness
* Headache
* Diarrhea
* Drowsiness
* Fatigue
* Indigestion
* Insomnia
* Muscle aches
* Nausea and/or vomiting
* Runny nose

Warnings and precautions before taking Accuretic

*It is important that your doctor check your progress at regular visits to make sure that this medicine is working properly and to check for unwanted effects.
*If you develop swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or of your arms and legs, stop taking the medication and contact your doctor immediately.
*Before taking quinapril/hydrochlorothiazide, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other ACE inhibitors such as lisinopril, captopril or "sulfa" drugs such as sulfamethoxazole.
*Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.
*Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor.
*This drug may also make you dizzy; so you should use caution engaging in activities that requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery.

Drug Interaction :-

If Accuretic is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Accuretic with the following : -

*Barbiturates such as phenobarbital
*Cholestyramine
*Colestipol
*Corticosteroids such as prednisone or ACTH
*Diabetes medications such as insulin or Micronase
*Digoxin (Lanoxin)
*Diuretics such as HydroDIURIL and Lasix
*Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid)
*Narcotics such as Percocet
*Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Naprosyn
*Norepinephrine
*Other high blood pressure medications such as Aldomet

Overdose

Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of Accuretic overdose may include:

* Dry mouth
*Excessive thirst
*Muscle pain or cramps
*Nausea and vomiting
*Weak or irregular heartbeat
*Weakness and dizziness
