Benefits of Scalp Massage

The head is one of the most important areas of the body, and most of the time we don't give the attention it needs. Despite being a vital part, it is also where we keep feelings, emotions and memories. Due to the stressful lifestyle, we experience more and more stress and anxiety every day. That is why people look for new techniques to combat the damaging effects they have on our health. One of the most important techniques is Scalp Massage, which gives sedative properties.

What can we get from a Scalp Massage?

The massage clears, revitalizes the mind and improves concentration. It increases the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid that acts as a buffer, protecting the brain and spine injuries. Scalp Massage balances the person giving a feeling of calm and peace since it works on the higher chakras, mobilizing the energy, thus bringing the body back to work harmoniously. Massage also helps in relaxing muscles of the neck area. Scalp and hair massage promotes sound sleep at night, and is not only beneficial for your nervous system and mind, but for the nutrition and beauty of our hair. It helps in strengthening of the hair roots and nourishing the hair-shafts increasing the luster and vibrancy of it by spreading the natural oils. A well-done Scalp Massage with natural oils helps makes follicles stronger which can help protect hair from weather conditions and environmental toxins. Moisturized hair is less likely to break and split.

Best technique

Whatever the technique of massage to apply, you should always follow a circular motion that starts with smooth and relaxing exercise to progressively increase its intensity and descend to end in a complete relaxation. To start you should place your thumbs at the base of the skull and the other fingers on either side of the forehead. Exert and perform rotation movements. Then slide your fingers toward the top of the head with a gentle pressure, until both hands gather at the top.
Another technique is to place both thumbs on the right side of the head. The fingers of the left hand on the back of the head, and the ones on the right hand, on the forehead. Begin to move your hands, sliding, until both are above the ear. Repeat the movement, this time with your thumbs behind the ear and move the fingers from forehead to crown. Last technique is to kneading the scalp throughout the head, putting pressure with your palm and then shrinks.

Conclusion

Using warm oils, especially with herbs that are hair friendly can enhance the effects of the massage, since they help in reducing the tightness and stiffness of the scalp and are very nourishing. Do not forget to do a good hair massage if you ever feel sad, depressed, and tired, because the massage will relieve stress and relax you so that you will feel better in just a matter of minutes. Do not hesitate and get your massage today.
