Diflucan is an antibiotic that has anti-fungal properties and which is why there are a whole lot of women that consider it useful for treating their vaginal yeast infection problems. Diflucan can also result in allergic reactions, though such instances are pretty rare. When a reaction does occur, it can cause symptoms like hives, difficulty in breathing or even swallowing, blood pressure may also drop suddenly, it has also been noticed that there can be swelling in the lips, face, throat as well as the tongue. With the proper Diflucan dosage, it is possible to see off the symptoms and be free of yeast infection in as few as two weeks or, with the right treatment, this may even be possible in as short a time period as just a couple of days or so.
Normally, you may be recommended to take just a single Diflucan yeast infection dose which should be sufficient though it should not be taken while expecting a child. Doctors will usually prescribe Diflucan yeast infection dosage as a single oral dose of one hundred and fifty milligrams for vaginal candidiasis, or yeast infection as it is known to the ordinary person. However, sometimes it may need to be taken in multiple doses and because a single oral dose of Diflucan is absorbed quite rapidly and almost completely, the daily dose could be the same as tablets or suspension and even the same as intravenous administration.
The bottom line is that Diflucan yeast infection dosage must be continued with until such time as the medical parameters or tests in the laboratory show that the fungal infection is no longer active and has in fact subsided; otherwise, it could lead to a recurrence of the yeast infection.
However, it would be wise to first consider whether there are any downsides to using diflucan yeast infection and if side effects are serious enough to warrant having second thoughts about its use. In fact, those who have used diflucan yeast infection have reported side effects that are serious enough to study them in a little more detail. Among the more common and serious side effects of diflucan are convulsions and seizures, other side effects include heavy blistering and peeling of the skin with accompanying skin rashes which turns to a red color. Besides all of these side effects, people who take it may also lose their appetite, see their skin turn to yellow color and there may also be pain in the abdomen.
Besides these relatively rare side effects, there are other side effects that are not quite so serious, but which still occur and these include feeling nauseous, vomiting, upset stomachs, diarrhea and headaches, foul taste in the mouth and some amount of bloating.
So, before considering diflucan make sure that these side effects are known to you and be aware that it is not recommended to be taken when suffering from certain other diseases such as disease of the liver, kidney and even disorder in the rhythm of the heart. Thus, knowing about the various side effects and don'ts regarding diflucan should help you use it in a proper and effective manner, and even before using it, asking your doctor about it. You don't want to risk your health and well-being, it is better to be safe than sorry. But, the genuine Diflucan yeast infection pill is FDA approved.
