As a possible side-effect, some individuals might experience an increase heart rate and in blood pressure. A weight loss of about 4lb is estimated during the course of this medication. If the desired result in terms of weight loss is not achieved, either stop this medication or increase the dosage as per your doctor's advice.
Generic Meridia is a serious medication used to loose weight for health measures and should not be looked at as a cosmetic to look slim. It is not recommended for someone who wants to loose few pounds but for people who have a higher BMI (body mass index). Body Mass Index is calculated with respect to your height and weight. People with higher BMI are more prone to weight related diseases as compared to people with low BMI. A BMI between 18-24 is considered to be normal, over 30 is considered overweight and below 18 is underweight.
