Acne is caused by several factors which can be unique for everyone who is suffering from it. Heredity plays a big role as a cause of some acne problems in people. If your parents have suffered from acne, you will also have a good chance to suffer from it as well. Until now, the gene responsible for acne has not been discovered yet but heredity always showed contribution in some acne cases.
Another common cause of acne is the hormonal activity within our system. This is widely observed in teenagers who are experiencing bodily changes because of their active hormonal changes during puberty. The monthly menstrual cycle in women also contributes to acne because of the some hormonal imbalances associated with it. Most of the time, women can tell when their menstruation is at hand because pimples appear somewhere on their face or body. When the hormones of women and the hormones of teenagers stabilize after the aforementioned periods, their acne goes away.
The presence of excessive bacteria on the skin is also strongly connected to acne causes. Bacteria traps dirt, oil, and dead skin cells in pores thus leading to skin swelling which is otherwise known as pimples, the most common symptom of acne. Good hygiene can help prevent this acne cause from starting. However, it is also important for us to know that excessive washing of the skin can dry it up and will also lead to acne. For this matter, we should keep in mind that a perfect balance in hygiene is the acne care prevention we can do for our skin.
Another known cause of acne is our daily diet. There are no specific foods that causes acne to develop however, excessive intake of fatty and oily foods such nuts, chocolates, chips, pizza, and other fried foods will cause our sweat glands to produce excessive oils. Excessive production of skin oils can trigger the development of nodules, pustules, whiteheads, and blackheads, all of which are symptoms of acne. The simple acne care prevention for this cause of acne should be to keep a balanced and healthy diet at all times.
Many of you don't know about this but make-ups can actually cause acne in some people. Make-ups are made up of tiny power-like particles that can clog up the pores together with the accumulated oils and dirt especially when not taken off at the end of the day. The proper way to acne care prevention is to remove make-up. To start, wipe your make-up off with make-up removal cream and then use a foaming cleanser to cleanse your face. After which, you have to use a toner that does not sting your face and doesn't have harmful ingredients. Finish off your beauty regimen with a moisturizer that doesn't have any animal oils in it because this may clog up pores as well.
You should also avoid getting exposed to certain toxic chemical compounds as well as using any medication that contains halogens and anabolic steroids. These chemicals are interconnected to acne problems in some people who are exposed to them. The famous saying "Prevention is better than cure" certainly applies to acne care. You can always prevent acne as long as you know some of its known causes.
