Medical Scrubs and Nursing Scrubs Company blue sky scrubs Adds Men's Scrub Line

blue sky scrubs, a medical scrubs and nursing scrubs company based out of Austin, TX, has added a new line of scrubs to their collection. blue sky scrubs began as a surgical scrub hat online retailer, selling only one scrub hat - the Pony hat for women. Word of mouth made blue sky scrubs' Pony hat popular and many requests came in for hats that would cater to women without long hair. After the release of the Pixie hat, which is a bonnet-style hat for women with hair of any length, men began emailing blue sky scrubs requesting men's hats. Thus began the current collection of Pony hats, Pixie hats, men's scrub hats, and the newly released bouffant-style Poppy hat - another request from medical personnel around the globe.

Because blue sky scrubs always takes into consideration the requests that come in from hospital staff, nurses, doctors, dentists, veterinarians, and anyone in the medical field who is required to wear nursing scrubs and/or medical scrub hats, the small company began manufacturing their own medical scrubs. blue sky scrubs decided to make their nursing scrubs different from other company's medical scrubs. Looking at current fashion outside of medicine, blue sky scrubs decided upon a slightly flare-legged, slimming scrub bottom that sat lower on the hips, similar to 7 for All Mankind low rise jeans. Taking into consideration that rarely do women wear jeans with just one pocket in the back, blue sky scrubs placed two stitched pockets on the backside, which immediately created a leaner look than other scrubs. And, rather than the unflattering elastic waist-band, blue sky scrubs added a coordinating ribbon that ties at the waist. Designing the nursing scrub top was simple - a tapered shirt for women always looks better than a boxy shirt, and with one stitched pocket on the upper left-hand side of their flattering scrub top, blue sky scrubs released their first line of medical scrubs, now known as Original scrubs. The first color, ceil blue, was so popular that navy, black, and grey were quickly added. Then, after taking a special order from an OB/GYN office in Houston, blue sky scrubs added pink and turquoise as permanent colors to their growing line of scrubs. While adding new colors almost quarterly, blue sky scrubs realized that they had neglected some of the requests that had come in from their male clientele. "We were receiving emails almost daily for men's scrubs," says David Marquardt, CEO of blue sky scrubs, "because our clients decide our products, we decided we needed to add men's medical scrubs."

The design process for the men's medical scrubs took almost a year to complete. blue sky scrubs finally decided upon scrub bottoms that would feature a low rise pant and also decided to use the same soft, wrinkle-resistant fabric that is also used for the women's nursing scrubs. With one pocket in the back and a classic white tie in the front, the scrub pants are bound to turn heads. Men may not care for stitching and a tapered top, so the pocket on the top left-hand side of the shirt is sans stitching and the scrub top is not tapered. Even without the stitching, these medical scrubs are still more fashionable than the hospital scrubs that are currently available through other companies. After finally releasing the men's line, blue sky scrubs men's scrubs were out of stock almost immediately. The once small nursing scrubs company wasn't sure how the line would do once it was made available through the website. However, they began receiving both compliments and requests. Many men have expressed interest in having the custom-stitched pockets, so this is something that blue sky scrubs may offer in the future, along with expanding the currently available colors. "Grey is the most popular color in our men's scrub line," says a customer service representative of blue sky scrubs. "we have a hard time keeping it in stock. We have had requests to add more colors, mainly burgundy, royal blue, and what is known in the hospitals as 'classic surgical green.' The design team is always working hard, trying to keep up with the demand." Rumor has it that the next product release from blue sky scrubs will be a special line of nursing scrubs made specifically from the requests of nurses who love the blue sky scrubs' designs but also need strategically-placed pockets at the bottom of the scrub top. As mentioned, blue sky scrubs' clients decide their products - at last, a company that listens to the most important people in their business - their customers.
