Tuberculosis- the once upon a time killer disease has today been eradicated from most parts of the world. But in countries like India and Africa, it is sad to say that that the disease is still very common. Though, today very few people die of TB because of the availability of a number of efficient and advanced TB cures. But this is true for the people who are affluent and financially secure. But the irony is that tuberculosis is more prone to those people who live in TB encouraging conditions. And only the poorer section of the society in the above mentioned countries live in the TB friendly conditions.
However, there is one TB encouraging condition that affects the rich as well as the poor equally and that is ‘smoking’. Smoking is 50 out of 100 times responsible for tuberculosis in the people. However the percentage stands to be truer in case of the poor. Basically because of their living conditions. The surroundings in which the poor live are congenial to TB and also to many other diseases. Smoking is an addiction that is very rampant in the poorer section of all nations. Smoking is an addiction that kills a person’s hunger and appetite to a great extent and so from men, women to even children of poorer sections of society are addicted to the puff. In addition the quality of the puff that these people take is also extremely degraded.
However the matter of concern is that smoking in addition to many other life threatening diseases is also immensely contributing in the spread of TB. There are ways for the rich to venture out of TB and also from the vice of smoking. But there is practically no way out for the poor. Today in India 50% of deaths caused by TB has smoking as the root and nearly 80% of these deaths are in the poor localities. Precisely because the governments of these countries have so many problems to face and such a huge population that it is really difficult to make the government efforts available to one and all. Apart from this the people themselves are not very keen on either giving up smoking or improving their conditions. The whole problem is intertwined and very very complex.
As I have mentioned in the previous paragraph there are ways for the rich to escape both TB and smoking. The cures of TB have been widely discussed so now lets discuss smoking. Well, a new concept has evolved for the people who smoke going by the name of anti smoking drugs. As you must have gauged from the term the drugs in this class helps smokers in giving up smoking. You will feel better when you know that these drugs are not made by some unknown concern but by the very famous drug company called Pfizer. Yes Pfizer has its own quit smoking pill in the market by the name of Chantix. Pfizer chantix is easily available online and so it saves you the effort of hunting around for the drug. People today hugely buy chantix online despite the fact that it is a costly drug. So with such helpful concepts we can go for the now almost impossible dream of having a smoke free world sometimes in future!
