Do You Know Depression Symptoms?

As long as life endures, we all experience things of such kind as stress, unhappiness, sadness, or trouble. Often, losing a beloved, we suffer a personal tragedy. Other difficulties as divorce, loss of a job make us feel depressed. But normally a human psyche is able to cope with depression symptoms and other types of stressful events.

Over a period of days or weeks, the majority of us are able to get back to our normal activities. But when these feelings of sadness and melancholy and also other depression symptoms last for more than a couple of weeks, and become chronic, we deal with a clinical depression. With the determination "clinical depression" is usually meant the real illness of depression, not the common, even a protracted sadness.

The most recognized with depression symptom is a profound feeling of sadness being no more interested in life. Clinical depression is not just affliction or feeling sad. It is an illness that can discomfit your life. Depression threatens for both you and your family. Other symptoms are: loss of enjoyment of your favorite activities; feelings of futility; feelings of guilt; thoughts of death or suicide; apathy; distribution of sleep.

There are several different types of depression (mood disorders that include depressive symptoms):
Major depression is a change in mood that lasts for weeks or months. It is most abundant type of depression. It usually implicates a loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities.

Seasonal depression, a seasonal affective disorder, a depression taking place at a certain time of the year, as usual winter or autumn, aligned with sunshine scarcity. Although it is the easiest kind of depression for treatment.

Dysthymia takes after major depression but usually goes on for a longer period, for years as usual. There are also normal periods against the course of a disease.

Bipolar disorder is represented with common of depression alternating with extreme exultation called mania. This type is also manic depression.

Psychotic depression is the most grinding type. Usually the sufferer loses touch with reality. Patients who suffer from a loss of touch with reality are thought to suffer from an imbalance of dopamine activity in the brain and to be at risk to become depressed afterwards.

It is thought that depression symptoms are "normal" for people with health problems, setbacks or other troubles and bad life situations. Remember: clinical depression is always abnormal! A person with depression symptoms requires a medical or mental-health professional help. In general depression responds to treatment.
