Depression is the vice that the whole world is fighting against. Today apart from medicines, efforts are being made to recognize certain tips and ways that can be helpful for people in combating depression at least to some extent. Apart from depression, there are some other mental disorders like panic disorders, manias, phobias, stress etc that are being worked upon so that people can shield themselves from their ill effects.

Much of the mental illnesses are the results of our doings. The lives of the people today are also responsible in many ways in bringing about a number of mental complexities in their lives. Violence is increasing at a rapid speed throughout the world. In the current times people are tied up in the shackles of hatred, pain, frustration and anger. These unpleasant feelings drown a person deep into mental unrest and disturbance. A person who gets frustrated very easily, who gets angry at the drop of the hat can never have the calm and peace of mind and hence it is only natural that these people find themselves become slave to some or the other mental ailment.

It is not also possible to give up the ways of the world for the simple fact that, under such circumstances, the very livelihood of the said person comes under threat. Killing depression by killing ones livelihood is definitely not the answer. Therefore, the need is for something that could minimize the impacts of the unpleasant feelings without serving a blow to the person's source of income.

Though it sounds very clichéd, but there is a genuine need for people to take up steps for peace, unity, and tranquility in order to diminish the ill effects of the feelings that contribute to mental disturbances and mental disorders. These feelings are also required for the sake of the health of the world. These feelings can go a long way in, what we say, making the world a better place to live in. The need for peace is actually a very acute one at least in the current scheme of things. The importance of this need can very well be gauged from the fact that there is a Nobel Peace Prize for the people who make extraordinary efforts towards this much needed field of peace.

One such Nobel peace laureate has contributed immensely in developing world peace. He is none other than the well known Dalai Lama. Dalai Lama maintains that people can experience much development in their disturbed mental health if they make some efforts towards controlling the workings of the negative feelings like hatred, anger, jealousy etc in their minds. Serving others selflessly, helping others can sometimes give peace that seems unattainable even with all the peace exercises. Though these things seem to be very bookish and impractical but morality can bring in immense mental peace and tranquility. Some amount of meditation and physical exercises can also work wonders in attaining the goal of mental equilibrium.

In case of clinical depression however, depression medicines like xanax online can be bought and taken. One can buy xanax for patients with medium and acute depression. The usage, dosage and even the suitability of a patient to have depression drug Xanax is to be determined by the doctor. In order to be safe from the xanax side effects always give emphasis on the xanax prescription.

There are no two ways about the fact that depression is a very disturbing disease. It is one such ailment that is rarely seen as a disease. People regard it as a problem or something that’s in the nature of the concerned person. But very few people take it as a curable disease. And the only cure that people think exists for the cure of depression is taking psychiatric help. Again psychiatric help is seen as the cure for what we term in common language as madness.

How do I let this go?
By: Maggie | 13-07-2008
I recently came out of a bad situation at my last place of work. I was horribly treated by a boss whom I previously had a great relationship with. What happened was she used me as an easy scapegoat for something that she totally mishandled. She also brainwashed my other coworkers into believing I did horrible things. She pretty much forced me out of the door by telling me my work was not up to par and that if my work didn't approve that she would fire me.  This is came only a couple months after she told me to apply for a promotion and I completed an advanced degree.  I have since left and gone onto another job (a different line of work) and am so happy at my new place of employment but I cannot seem to let this situation go i.e. I cannot stop thinking about how horrible I was treated. I have always had a problem with forgiveness but believe this situation is magnified as I was not able to control the situation at my old job as I did not want to make matters worse by telling on my boss in my exit interview as I thought this could potentially harm my current employers relation with my old company. Any advice on how to try and start letting the anger I hold go?

Breaking Into Pieces.
By: jmdillon | 09-07-2008
Hi all. All I can't say is, help. About a year and a half ago my father was diagnosed with stage IV bladder cancer. Since then it has spread to his lungs, liver and abdomen. Nurses say he has several months. My family is in Ohio and I am working in Washington, DC. I am 23 and my dad is only 55, unfair if you ask me. My dad and I have always been close. He is ordained in the Methodist Church and has worked in the church for years so our family has always been involved together in the church. The last report we got from the doctor is that the masses in his lungs have doubled and tripled in size in the past 2 months since he chose to stop treatment (it was doing more harm than good). So, at 23, i'm dealing with something way beyond what I am prepared for. But, on top of this, my boyfriend of 2.5 years, with whom I live, has decided to go to Cornell (500 miles away) for a graduate program. Sean, my boyfriend, has been my stronghold, my shoulder, my rock since my father was diagnosed. As poorly as I may be handling my father's condition, it has definitley been better than had Sean not been with me to support me. My support system of friends and family are all in Ohio, so Sean is all I have here. My question is, how do I do this? I personally don't think I am emotionally capable of maintaining a healthy long-distance relationship with half of my heart being in Ohio with my family. I need someone to BE there for me. What do I do? How do I end a relationship I never thought would end, and live to see the next day? How does pain like this not kill a person?
