The Symptoms of Panic Attacks

Panic attack is commonly misunderstood as many people often struggle to hide what they are actually going through. The reason is because these people are known to be embarrassed by it and they feel other people aren't going to understand. How can then when they barely comprehend what is happening themselves?

The symptoms of panic attack are numerous but a person may only suffer from one or two of them. Other people will have an array of them, and they may not be the same with each episode. Feeling dizzy is very common due to the overwhelming feelings of fear and terror that occur rapidly. Many people feel a tingling sensation on the face and in the extremities. Chest pains can occur and they can make a person feel like they are suffering from a heart attack. Breathing hard is also very common due to the increased level of anxiety.

Some people experience symptoms of panic attack that include trembling or shaking. Sweating is also commonly recognized due to the changes that occur rapidly for the body. Most individuals also feel that they have lost control over their body and their mind when they suffer from a panic attack. This is the one symptom that seems to further fuel the fear and stress involved.

The severity of symptoms of panic attack can range from very mild to extreme. This is why some people do fear that they are suffering from a stroke or a heart attack when the onset occurs. The fact that they have pain in the chest and numbness in the extremities are also symptoms common with those forms of medical concerns. The feeling of not being able to breath can increase the level of anxiety to the point that an ambulance is called to help the individual.

Sometimes it can really be hard to know the difference at the time of what is really occurring. It isn't uncommon for a person to be exhausted mentally and physically after a panic attack is over with. One of the symptoms of panic attack is that they want to rest and often sleep for many hours afterwards. When these attacks become regular triggers that occur before them and patterns of behavior after such as excessive sleeping will emerge.

The longer that a person suffers from panic attacks, the more severe in nature the symptoms are likely to become. Many individuals don't seek help until the symptoms have gotten very strong. Others do their best to continue hiding it and even withdraw from their family and friends. Such symptoms of panic attack may seem like depression but there is more going on than just that.

If you feel that you are someone else has been suffering from panic attacks, find out what can be done. There is no reason to go on suffering from them. It can make your life one you aren't happy with. No one likes to feel like they are out of control when it comes to their mind and their body.
