The cup must be wide at the top with slanting sides, and the bottom not too small, a white cup is preferred. A good grade of tea preferably china tea should be used. The querent must drink the tea leaving a little at the bottom, then with the left hand take hold of the handle and slowly move the cup around from left to right three times.
