Become a Killer MLM Article Marketer Part 3 - Track Your Results

In Parts 1 and 2 of this article series we've told you how killer MLM article marketers write and submit their articles to successfully attract prospects for their products, services, and businesses. Now onto the third step: tracking. The only way for you to know whether your article marketing campaign is succeeding, and specifically which types of articles are bringing you the best success, is to track your results.

Different article marketers track their results in many different ways. The simple way to track your results is just to find out how many different places any one of your articles is listed. It's easy. Just go to Google and type the name of your article, in quotes, in the search box. The quotes around your article name tell Google to search for the entire title, not just individual words in the title. The number of results that comes up shows you how often your article has been listed in article directories or picked up by other websites. You might click on the listings in the first few pages just to see where and how your article is being used.

If you want to get more sophisticated in your tracking, and we suggest you do, then you'll probably have to make use of some software to help you out. Pro article marketers often use online systems with special links to track the results of their efforts (for a look at the system we use be sure to click the link in the resource box at the end of this article). These systems allow you to assign specific links to specific articles or types of articles. You then include these links in your resource box when you submit your article to an article directory. Whenever someone clicks on one of these special links, the system makes note of it and keeps statistics. You can assign a special link to each category of article you write. For instance, if you write about health, internet marketing, and home business, you can create a special link for each of these categories. Or, if you want to experiment with different writing styles, ranging from down-home friendly to a straight business-like approach, you might assign a different link to each style. Then over time, tracking your results through your software, you'll discover which style attracts the best prospects for you.

Of course, if you are an article marketer and have been around awhile, you know that many article directories do not allow you to put these "special links" in your resource box because these links are complex in nature. To avoid this problem, simply go to any domain management service, like GoDaddy, and purchase a forwarding domain for every special link you want to use. If you have three categories of articles that you want to track, then you need to purchase three separate forwarding domains. These domains will then forward your prospect straight to the special link and you'll get no trouble from the article directories.
