Secret MLM Strategies - Why 3-way Calling With Your Upline is the Biggest Mistake You Can Make

So, you joined up with an MLM business, with high hopes of bringing in that extra income, or maybe even being able to quit your "JOB" at some point, and be able to work from home. That is ideal, something we all strive for...that freedom from the daily commute, being able to schedule our own work hours, and control our financial future. These are terrific goals, and are certainly attainable in the network marketing business, IF you take control of your business.

More often than not, you are told by your upline, that when you get a prospect on the phone, and they have a question (one that you couldn't possibly be able to answer on your own) all you have to do is 3-way in your upline and they would be more than happy to answer your prospect's questions. Trusting your upline, you do just that. So, for example, Mary calls you and wants to know a little more about the compensation plan of your company. Being new, and a little unsure of yourself, you tell Mary to hold on while you call Brenda (your upline), and have her help out with the answers. Whoa! What just happened? Who are you working for now? Who just became the expert? Guess what, you just put Brenda up on a pedestal as the expert, and you pretty much just became her gopher. On top of that, your credibility is crushed...Mary will never ask you for help again...she now has Brenda to talk to. That is no way to run YOUR business!

You need to take control of your business. Your first assignment when you start with any mlm business is to completely understand all of the policies, procedures, and the compensation plan of your company. It is your responsibility as a network marketing business owner to be able to explain all of this to anyone that you bring into your network marketing business with you. You have to know your product and it's benefits, inside and out! Make no mistake, if you do not know what you are doing, and do not completely understand your product, your prospects will see right through you, and simply will not do business with you. You are the boss...act like one!

Knowing your product or service, and what options your potential customer has, is crucial if you really expect to earn a living in a network marketing business. Consider this - if you were to go to your local sandwich shop, and ask the owner what kind of options you have in choosing the bread for your sandwich, and they had to call someone to ask...what would you think about that business person? Not very professional, and certainly not in control of their business. The same is true in your network marketing business...you absolutely must be in control. Knowing your products, all available options there are, and how the product will benefit it's users is basic. You should be able to field questions, without calling your upline for help.

So, once again, my advice to you is to get educated. Before you start prospecting, and trying to build your network marketing business, learn everything you can about your product or service. DO NOT use 3-way calling, and give away your business. Make yourself an expert, and build your network marketing business on trust and knowledge.
