Student Internships May Be Shifting Towards a New Business Model; Big Income Ahead

Student internships are about to see a shift in direction. With almost every large sector of the economy taking a hit by the crisis, it's easy for most of the country to overlook the impact the crisis has on the student internship programs and pre-professional career opportunities usually available to students. To no dismay, internship opportunities have taken a hit, and the students of course, are the ones bearing the force. Now, students are left in a limbo between the pre-professional internship offer and the hourly-wage job at the local shop that contributes little to none to their professional career. But the recent pioneering of a revolutionary business model might be the solution our country's student body needs. As a leader of this roll-out business model, I believe that this new plan might be a jobless student's best friend. My generation is the future leader of the free-market economy, and because of that, I believe that we cannot sit back and watch the recession take toll on our friends and ourselves. It is time that the student body of the country steps up and diversifies their means of opportunity as to promise a strong future in the professional world. With persistence and creative thinking, today's students can take the recession for what it is and turn it into a life-changing opportunity.  I, a native of Colorado and a current sophomore at the University of Colorado-Boulder, have begun growth of my business already and I continue to watch it expand nationwide, daily.
