The Utmost Importance of Leading With Your MLM Company's Product and not the Business Opportunity
Author: John Hewell | Posted: 07-04-2008 | Comments: 0 | Views: 14 | Rating: (51) (?)
With a 98% failure rate in Network Marketing, some serious consideration must be given to the inefficiencies and discrepancies of the over promoted, out-dated marketing methods your MLM Company expects you to use. Want to turn your business around and create that 6 - 7 figure income? Do the exact opposite of what your MLM Company "tells" you to do...
Folks, it truly makes me shudder in my boots every time I hear a fresh new MLMer utter the following lines:
"Hello ‘Friend or Family’ I've got this great "business opportunity"; endorsed by _(insert famous celb here)_. I really can't get into it all at the moment, but if you come over to my place later... "
What's the usual response (even if they've been to an opportunity meeting)?
"Oh yeah, that looks "interesting", but my plate is pretty full at the moment. I'll wait and see how you go with it, first..."
My friends, this has got to be the single worst way to market just about anything! In fact, is almost defies all of the principles of "marketing" in general. How many companies do you see with successful marketing campaigns advertising their "Opportunities" to those that focus on their Product(s) and the perceived benefits that they bring to the Consumer? The simple answer to that, ladies and gentlemen, is consumers buy and use products, not opportunities. In fact only less than 5% of the population truly desire to be "business owners". What about the other 95%? They are Consumers doing what they do best; consuming things. Now think back to the companies we spoke about earlier, you know, the ones with the successful marketing campaigns? The ones who spend big $ hiring savvy marketing firms to ensure they are always "speaking to" their targeted audience? Yet, one is always told upon signing up to your typical Network Marketing scheme to push the "bizop" onto your unsuspecting friends, family, and acquaintances. You often find that if you didn't already have a "network" in place before becoming a "business owner"; your business stalls right out of the gate. You quickly go through your "warm market" to find that little to no friends and family have joined you on your "opportunity of a lifetime", and to those that did? Ask yourself, where are their downlines, or should I say "Networks" at right now, and is that "leg" holding itself up? Or, is it "just getting by", or even worse, fizzled right out?
You are probably finding the road to wealth through MLM a bit rocky? Have you ever considered that since a 98% failure rate exists in the network marketing arena industry-wide; across a wide spectrum of MLM companies marketing a variety of products and services then the only common denominator is the ineffective recruiting methods our MLM companies teach us network marketers to use which is interestingly very similar from Company to Company.
Let me ask you this. How much more effective would your marketing strategy be if you could narrow down your company's product or products to one or two true benefits that the product actually offers the end user; such as saving money, living longer & more healthy, making sure your computer is virus free, piece of mind and so on. If you really think about it, I'm sure you can come up with at least two. If you have a company with multiple products, then look for the product that put them "on the map", or pick a product line within your organization that offers real benefit to the consumer. If your company's product's only benefit is the opportunity, then find yourself a new networking company, fast! There are plenty of legit MLM Companies out there to choose from so go and find yourself one with a product you believe in, and can see the benefits of. If you think and think and think, and you are still stuck, you may get in touch with me through my website, and I can help you. Remember, we're talking about the product(s) here; I'll get to the opportunity part in a moment.
So, what about the opportunity, you say? Think about this. What if the "opportunity " was, if not only this, the opportunity to receive and consume this product we and our "network" already love, that offers us benefit(s) A,B and C FOR FREE! That's right, you and your network participating in your company's Comp program with the honest and achievable goal of simply making enough money from your business that it offsets your monthly spend on that product by at least 100%. What if those customers you attracted to your product (your downline) were doing all doing the same thing, duplicating this strategy and marketing your Network Company's product and associated "opportunity" in a similar fashion? What position financially would your business be in if that was the case? The bottom line is this, ladies and gentlemen, if you are truly serious about cashing in on this Multi Level Marketing thing, and making the money you've dreamed of and know is obtainable in the 21st century marketplace; then take a page out of the "big boys" marketing handbook; always think Product BEFORE Opportunity.
