As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ I believe Christians today need to encourage one another more than ever before. Here are some positive points you can use to lift up your fellow brother/sister in Christ when trials abound.

1. Gods Number 1 (not you)!

God should be the number 1 priority in our lives. During good times and bad making God number 1 in our lives will enhance your relationship with him -which will improve all other aspects of your life. You will praise him during the good times, and bad times will be so much easier to get through when you make the decision to take yourself out of the number one spot in your life and give it to God.

2. TRUST HIM!

Trust that what God states in the Bible (his Word) is true. He WILL meet all of your needs…He WILL get you through these trials…and He DOES have a divine purpose to fulfill in your life if you will just put your complete trust in him who loves you.

3. Do Not Worry!

Read Mathew Chapter 6. You will find many references from the mouth of Christ himself saying Do Not Worry!!! We have the God of the universe watching over us. We are not alone in the world, so why do we worry? Know and understand that the creator knows what tomorrow holds. He has already taken care of your problems, it just has not come to pass yet. So do not worry about anything Christian…remember 1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

4. Be Positive!

You have probably heard this from millionaires, pastors, relatives, etc. the bible tells us we should be positive by nature because of Christ in our hearts. Remember that positive thinking always equals positive results. Thinking negatively in any situation always makes the situation worse. Be Positive, Be Positive, Be Positive, and again I say Be Positive!

5. Encourage others, and you will be Encouraged!

It feels good to help others…When you help someone else it automatically seems that your spirit is lifted up simply by showing Gods love through you encouraging others. One way you can do this is by joining a Christian social network such as OnewuG.com with a focus on Christians encouraging each other.

6. Keep Moving Forward!

Philippians 3:14 states “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Powerful, what an amazing verse! Its easy to say “I’ve had enough” or “I Quit” but realize that since God is in control the outcome will always be positive in some way. Never give up…Never.

7. Draw Close to the Word!

The best encouragement is being able to read the very word of God in the Bible. We need to make sure we allow plenty of time on a daily basis focusing on the word so you can be prepared for anything this world will throw at you. It will bring a closer walk with Jesus and will be a positive impact on those around you the more you dedicate yourself to the word of God.

What is Your Calling? Find Out if You Have the Gift of Exhortation
By: Jackson | 01/07/2008 | Spirituality
Is your spiritual calling in Exhortation? Exhortation is the language intended to incite and encourage. Exhorters also provide warnings or advice, make urgent and appeals. God is love and has blessed us with more than one gift. We all have many seen and unseen gifts and talents. Some gifts are more dominant than others.

Our Ambitious Western Christianity
By: Patrick Roberts | 29/10/2007 | Religion
Our desire to partake in God’s spiritual assignments is good, but let’s take heed that we don’t esteem ourselves higher than God Himself esteems us. As we embrace whatever spiritual assets we possess naturally, we’ll find that they amount to… not much.

Obey God Today
By: Patrick Roberts | 29/10/2007 | Religion
We can’t help surrendering ourselves to one master or another. We are built for worshipping either God or something else, as our unconscious habits demonstrate every day. And, from my experience living in the U.S., I gather that the most prevalent false god to whom unredeemed people pay homage is the ego, or the self (including any subtle derivations of self).

Loving the Holy One
By: Patrick Roberts | 11/11/2007 | Religion
Worshipping God and loving God are similar in that neither one can be excessively premeditated. And we love and worship best when we do not claim to have the Object of our admiration all figured out.

God Provides
By: Patrick Roberts | 31/10/2007 | Religion
Biblical as well as modern-day examples demonstrate this general cycle: First, God provides for His people all by Himself. Then His people remember that they can depend on Him. Then they forget. Then God provides for His people all by Himself again so that His people are reminded to depend on Him… and on and on.

Joy is Like a Train
By: Patrick Roberts | 05/11/2007 | Religion
We sin when we try too hard to force joy into our lives. It is a sure sign of the insane influence of sin that we presume to decide when, where and how much joy we will obtain for ourselves. This is an insane pursuit because it never works and yet we keep trying it just the same.
