A Spring For God! by Richard Roberts

I'm living in Tulsa, Oklahoma and most everybody who is living in this part of the country knows that it's rich in oil and natural gas. The oil and gas have been underground for hundreds and hundreds of years, waiting for somebody to find it. In the early 1900's, one of the richest oil strikes in the history of America was found right here just south of Tulsa. And when they put pressure on it, it began to rise up till it shot up above the surface, which they called "a gusher." you've likely seen old movies of gushers when someone struck oil.

There's something I want you to see that parallels that in the spirit realm. The Word of God is like a drill. It can drill down into your heart and cause faith to rise up, until pretty soon you have a "gusher!" The gusher is the result in your life of what the Word produced in your heart. Your faith is not produced in your mind. We will never be able to win over the devil with our experience. Religion is the victory that overcomes all the works of the devil ( one John 5:4 ) and faith comes from putting God's Word into our hearts. When we doggedly feed on His Word, faith can rise up, and we are able to produce a gusher for God in our lives and in the lives of others!

Your faith is not produced in your mind. You can't think it up. It must come from your heart, or your spirit, by feeding on God's Word. Romans 10:17 NKJV says, Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. We will never be able to win over the devil with our experience. We will never be able to defeat him with our minds. Faith is the victory that overcomes all the works of the devil (1 John 5:4) and faith comes from putting God's Word into our hearts. When we consistently feed on His Word, faith can rise up, and we can produce a gusher for God in our lives and in the lives of others!
