These flamboyant self help gurus are not really moved by the worries of the world as it appears to many; rather, they are laughing from within thinking of the fortune awaiting them in the form of worries of their disciples. The more the worries are, the richer they are.
Sadly, even the educated class of our society is also falling preys to these frauds. With innumerable problems surrounding them, these people blindly believe that they can get an immediate cure by extracting a share of spiritual energy from these magicians.
Spiritual energy refers to the energy of the mind. Somewhere in the past, the concept of spiritualism collided with religion in many worlds, leading to confusion among the people. It is now widely accepted that spirituality is synonymous with religion, and those who believe in the power of God is the real spiritual person. An atheist, therefore, is not a spiritual person. This concept is not true because it is not driven by reasons.
At every stages of evolution, man has proved his ability to think logically. If so, why can’t we think sensibly on concepts related to god and spirituality? When will our society attain maturity to follow our great philosophers who defined spirituality as ‘love to mankind’? Mind is our spirit, and to gain love and happiness from the world, we need to give love and happiness to the world. This is the simple logic behind spiritualism.
If we analyze the works of the so-called self-help gurus, we can see that god is seen nowhere in their books. Their spirituality is, in simple terms, commercialism dipped in spiritualism. They preach the powers of spiritual healing, mental reformation and many such absurd things challenging the logical reasoning ability of human being. They fill their sermons with hypocritical statements smeared in spiritualism.
To conduct a dichotomy between spiritualism and materialism, we need to first understand what they mean to us. For this, there should be a movement towards eliminating the mystery surrounding spirituality. As a first step, we need to expose the fake gurus who spread religious chauvinism in the name of God.
