Does this sound familiar? “I do not have a choice” No choice.
“Why are you still in the job or relationship that you dislike?” No Choice!
Let’s pause and ponder for a moment. Do we really have no choice? Are we not making a choice when we say that “I do not have a choice”?
In other words, we are making choice of not choosing to make a decision to do something to the matter at hand. “No choice” is the answer given most frequently when people are feeling unempowered to change their situations or there are other practical constrains that make them feel stuck. So how can a person recognize whether he/she does have a choice to change the situation they are unhappy about? Let’s explore:
1. Acknowledge and accept the things that you are unable to change
There are certain things in life that we are unable to change. For instance, our family, our skin color, race, to name a few. Instead of harping and dwelling on things that you are unable to change. Choose to acknowledge them and accept that changing these things are beyond your abilities. By accepting, it will free you to focus and look at things that you are able to change.
2. Be willing to change those areas that you are able to
It takes courage and perseverance to move out of your comfort zones. Change involves departure from the familiar and entering into the unknown. It would mean rocking your present boat and chartering into new waters. This is why we will meet with resistance from ourselves and others. Obstacles and hurdles will appear. Yet, when you muster the courage to face and overcome them, you will discover a new horizon that is waiting for you to discover and explore. Life can be full of regrets or an adventure. What is your decision today?
Everyday, we make choices whether consciously or subconsciously. Let the choices that you make today be steps of growth for your tomorrow.
Below is a short quote that I came across and would like to share with you :-
God grant me the
Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can, and the
Wisdom to know the difference.

Choosing a sewing machine
By: lilly | 21-05-2007
Well, I've been making some soft toys and purses over the past several month and now I'm a little tired of sewing everything by hand and I want to get a sewing machine. So doing some research I found good reviews about "brother" company that has pretty good money for value that are simple and easy to use. I expected to spend about 150$ on one of the beginner machines. Then today, going to visit my neighbors, they told me they are leaving and also said they are selling their industrial sewing machine for 350$. I can spend that money now, and I know the industrial one would last longer and would sew better - but it's very hard for me to decide which way to go.Is there anyone here who have sewing experience and know which path would be better?
