Here’s an over-looked and underestimated success strategy that I discovered and use myself.
Doodle your way to success.
The next time you have a few “idle moments,” transform them into a success experience.
All you need is a pen, paper, and a little imagination.
Let your creative mind do the rest. It will help you see new possibilities and discover unexpected success insights.
You may be asking, “How can the ‘mindless’ act of doodling have anything to do with success?”
A doodle is an image and your mind makes meaning out of images.
For example, call to mind an image that means “success” to you.
Whether this image is a stately mansion or a modest vacation home in the country, it means “success” to you.
Really, it’s just an image in your mind. However, it means something to you because that’s what your mind does with images.
And that’s why the familiar adage “A picture is worth a thousand words” strikes a chord of truth.
Moreover, doodling relaxes and distracts your conscious mind. And that’s how you free your unconscious to make new connections and see new points of view.
So here is what I do when I have a few moments and have pen and paper handy. I turn “mindless” doodling into a mind-empowering success exercise.
I write the word “success” in the middle of a blank sheet of paper and:
Draw stick figures portraying “success” around the page. I connect them to each other and/or the word “success” any way that seems natural to me.
I use it as the backbone for a series of words as in the game “Scrabble.” For example, I might incorporate the “u” into “courage” and “e” into “enthusiasm.”
If I have time, I might draw a labyrinth around it. Mine are simple. However, yours might be more elaborate.
Give your creative mind free reign and let it develop your own distinctive doodles.
Then ask yourself “What new and unexpected meaning does my mind see that will help me grow the success in my life?”
Let your creative mind respond and use this wonderful answer at once!
So don’t let idle moments slip away!
Like me, you’ll be amazed at the insights you’ll gain.
So arm yourself with imagination and shape idle moments into active experiences that prime your mind for success.
If you can doodle, then you can grow success.
