FAMILY AND ITS CHARACTER

The flashing light of the light house constantly reminds Martha of the departure of Sam’s ship. She was watching Sam’s ship gently rolling and making way through the channel into the open sea. Finally, it disappeared from the horizon. She was returning home, deeply engrossed in the thoughts. Her gait was slow and unsteady. Immediately, after engagement .Sam joined the ship. It was Sam’s first command at a very young age. The task of reaching the destination on time was very important. A, his ship was carrying very important cargo. Martha knew that at this crucial moment she should show confidence and courage to Sam. The completion of an assigned task was very important o both.  Their marriage planned on completion of his mission. On the other hand, Martha who has just embarked on the corporate ladder wanted to achieve success and fame. She also knew that her heart and mind have to be in harmony to achieve desired results. It was quite late in the night, and she felt asleep.  

Martha and Sam both were brilliant in their field. Their parents who were academic excellence have positive influence on the children. Sam and Martha grew in a small town. Strategically it was located at a natural harbour busting with a lot of commercial activities. Sam and Martha and their parents were well known in the town .Sam, a dashing and enterprising young Master Mariner scaling dizzy height of success and fame. Martha was a charming and vivacious young girl making perfect impression in the corporate world.  

She enquired about Martha’s view s on marriage. Martha’s answer was appropriate, practical and within the parameters of respect and dignity. She emphasized that mutual trust and respect for each other’s achievement should be transparent. The values of life as taught by elders should be respected.

Martha’s mother who was in the top hierarchy of the corporate world put Sam at ease.  She said Sam knows how to navigate and avoid uncharted waters. Sam, a brilliant navigator said that the institute of marriage teaches practical things. The exposure to situations to be seen or unseen put to test a man’s ability to improvise and take corrective measures. He elaborates that steering a ship clear of a rough patch by avoiding unfavorable sea and swell without jeopardizing pre-determined track is the art of navigation.

Both fathers, who were very clever and upright in their respective fields, gave a satisfied smile in unison. They emphasized that bedroom life of a couple should be restricted within the boundaries of the bedroom. Once it is outside the bedroom then it becomes a focal point of gossip exposing making the couple a victim of circumstances.

The convivial talk ended on a happy and satisfied note. They finalized their marriage date. They left for their respective home. Finally, the D-day arrived and Sam and Martha tied the nuptial's knot. In the arena, a young lad was watching the events with innocent pleasure and surprise. It was noticed by the newly married couple, and they approached him.  He asked the couple what is the secret of success both at sea and in the corporate circle. Martha left it for Sam to answer it. He said succinctly,” Do not navigate in uncharted waters”. The lad was perplexed but the couple was satisfied.

Sam and Martha setup an example of a perfect couple and obedient children.
