And so many folk think : Well, I need to have a prayer with lots of huge words, pray sort of what folks call an ecclesiastical prayer, Dony and Reba. Oh, that I need to use thou and I have to change my voice. You know, they
have to..
I suspect God laughs at me when I attempt to pray Elizabethan English cause that's not the way Jerry Savelle talks, you know, unless I'm quoting the King James Bible, you know. I do not try to impress him as he knows the idea and intention of my heart. I just talk to him like I talk to you now. I have respect for God so I'm going to talk correct in front of him. But I am not looking for some long spiritual prayer and folk need to watch out for repeating what they heard someone else pray, you know. It might not be scriptural, you know. It may not be the Word of the Almighty.
And it is not always the long prayer, you know. Peter prayed a three-word prayer out there on the water. He claimed,'Lord, save me.' If he'd recounted any more he may have drowned. JW : that is's right.
Now, that's where praying in the Spirit, praying in tongues, come in with me. And the Bible asserts after we put on the armor of God that we are to pray ceaselessly. The only way I know how to pray all of the time is to hope in the Spirit because in English I run out. What about you?
Same here. Actually, the day and time in which we live, I do not see how folks and even born-again folk who have not gone a step farther and received the baptism in the holy spirit and be ready to pray in other tongues, I don't see how they really develop a particularly correct prayer life because at times I just don't know how to pray in English.
But because I'm not sure your need does not make me limited in my capability to hope effectively because I will be able to say,'All right, Holy Spirit.
