TAKE MY BREATH AWAY - What Is the Bold Action That Will Move You Forward?

When was the last time you had your breath taken? An even better question is: When was the last time you (INTENTIONALLY) did something that took your breath?

THE DANGER!

You can have your breath taken for a number of reasons in a number of ways. But for the purpose here, I'm talking about having your breath taken by doing the "thing" you are called to do, and that feels like danger to you.

Whatever that "thing" is for you today IS danger, but NOT to your best self or to your greatness. It is danger to the status quo. And it is danger to any useless fear or limiting belief that you've been dragging around.

As for your best self, doing the thing that takes your breath is what gets you there - to your best self, to your greatness, to a deeper experience and expression of your potential, and to who you really are.

A LESSON IN BREATH TAKING

I had a big learning about breath taking experiences the year I turned 40. I lived in New England near ski country for 17 years but had never down hill skied. As a "Southern girl" I really wanted to have the new experience, but couldn't get myself to go. There were many times during those years that I wondered why, especially having been an athlete most of my life.

It felt something like fear, but every time I checked in about what I might be afraid of, I couldn't find anything - no fear of breaking my leg, or smashing into a tree, or getting lost and freezing to death.

Finally, the winter after I turned 40, the time was nigh! I followed the pack as my partner and I went up country to New Hampshire with a couple of friends for a down hill skiing week-end. The day arrived. I was decked out in my gear, an early morning lesson under my belt, and up the mountain on the lift I went.

Standing at the top of the slope the "real" experience I had resisted for 17 years began. Poles in hand, skis securely on my feet, looking out over a majestic scene in shades of white, I was off.

Flying down hill, wind in my face, traversing from side to side, leaning into the hill, I knew freedom and I was exhilarated. No sooner than I got to the bottom, I was ready to go up again. Which I did - over and over for the rest of the day. I don't remember falling but I must've, at least once. But that is not what I remember.

I knew on the first trip down what had kept me from this all those years, what had felt like danger to me. It was the anticipated exhilaration of the experience. And it was exhilarating - breathtaking on many levels. I had stepped beyond where I had been. I felt fully alive. That is what I remember.

WHAT IS IT FOR YOU?

What is the thing that has been calling you - in either your personal life or your business - that you've been resisting? The "thing" you are called to do but haven't because it has felt like danger. It's the same thing that you know you have to do to feel fully alive. What is it for you?

THE GUARANTEE

I want to reassure you right away that - at this point - you don't have to know how, or even have a clue as to how. In fact, if you wait until you know how, it's likely that time will never come. For now you just have to know "what." And "why." You will have other "whys" but the one you can always count on is feeling more alive.

Once you say "YES" and start the journey, the "hows" will show up. That's a guarantee, a spiritual guarantee. Whatever you are called or inspired to do, you have within you what is necessary to bring it to fruition, and you will get all the assistance you need along the way. That's the guarantee.

THE PAY-OFFS

There's a bigger place for you to go in your life and your business. There always is - that's a fact of life itself. Doing the thing you are called to do, the thing that takes your breath is necessary. The "thing" will change over time, but rest assured there will be a next one.

The pay-offs are countless - more energy, focus and increased confidence to name a few. And the BIG ONE you can always count on is feeling more fully alive.
