How many seminars have you attended and how many articles have you read about discovering your purpose? You may have written down your purpose somewhere and may have forgotten what it contains. If so, then just try to remember what you wrote and commit it to memory. Devise some ways for you to be reminded of that purpose everyday.
If you have not yet identified your goals based on your purpose and mission in life, then it is time for you to sit down and break down your goals into categories and think about the costs, the materials needed as well as the skills and talents you need to develop in order to achieve those. This way, you will be able to work on your purpose systematically.
If you have written your purpose down, don't brainstorm or analyze such document too much. Otherwise, you might be paralyzed by your analysis. Rather, it is time for you to stand up from your seat and start doing what it takes for you to live in accordance with your purpose.
What then do you do next? You have to plot a plan of action, as well as a timeline in which you set your goals and the schedule for you to achieve them. Working on your goals doesn't necessarily have to be boring or a compulsion. If your goals are in accordance with your set of values and beliefs, this would not be a problem.
If you are only acting out of a sense of duty, perhaps, you had better pause for a while and think whether this is what you truly want. Doing something that you are passionate about is way better than doing something grudgingly.
With your purpose already decided, you simply list down the things you need to do and start completing them. You may start saving ten dollars daily. Perhaps, you want to commit to the local orphanage to help the kids. Or donate some of your clothes to the needy. Why not? Do them right away. Do not procrastinate.
As soon as you've done one of the goals you identified, other doors will be opened to you and you will be presented with additional opportunities to help others and fulfil your purpose. Do not wait for a year before living out your purpose. Do it today.
Take action instead of mumbling about purpose and theoretizing about possibilities. Make things happen. A year from now you wish you had started today.
