Downloading Movies Legally Has Never Been Easier

Downloading movies from the Internet has accelerated at breathtaking speed in the last five years. The proliferation of broadband and cable and the ever increasing storage capacity of hard disk drives have made downloading movies a convenient reality for millions of people. It has never been easier to download and watch movies and television shows.

However, it is important to ensure that the movie and television content that you download is not in violation of copyright laws. Unfortunately most of the free file-sharing websites contain illegal content. However, there are some exceptions to this.

Firstly, to download television shows after they have aired on television is not illegal. I personally download all of the television that I watch as I despise the incessant advertisements that one is subjected to when attempting to watch a television programme. Additionally when watching television in this way one is not restricted to the television channels scheduling guide.

Secondly, there are some free and legal movie download websites. One such website is titled archive.org. These movies are in the public domain and are perfectly legal to download. These movies tend to be rather old. However, if one has a fetish for the historic, artsy, or amateurish production then this might be for you.

Finally, one can choose to sign up to a legal movie download website. These websites typically charge a one off fee although some entail monthly subscription fees that tend to be somewhat less than the one off fee. Indeed there is evidence to suggest that legal movie download websites are gaining ground on the rogue file sharing sites such as the likes of Kazaa and Napster. In addition paid movie download sites tend to provide faster download speeds and better quality content. Additionally, the movie download websites that I recommend all provide free software to easily burn your movies to DVD or CD.

I highly recommend paid movie download sites if you want to download Internet movies. These sites are cheap to subscribe to and user-friendly to navigate. Most importantly you can download and watch your favourite movies with both eyes on the screen (rather than one on the screen and the other peering over your shoulder keeping an eye peeled for the internet police).

Who is Bela Tarr?

By: Kasan Groupe | 14/12/2009
One of the most interesting international filmmakers, Bela Tarr has created some of the most powerful images in film since Rainer Werner Fassbinder, an idol of Tarr’s. Growing up in Budapest in a working class family, Tarr originally wanted to be a philosopher but the strict Hungarian government would not allow Tarr to attend the Hungarian university after they learned of his short 8mm films. Tarr possibly saw this as a sign and threw himself headfirst into filmmaking.
