Guillermo del Toro’s latest fantasy film PAN’S LABYRINTH is a wonderment of the imagination and a descent into the brutality of human nature all from the point of view of Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) an orphaned little girl who is forced to move to the new home of her step father Captain Vidal (Sergi Lopez) whose assignment is to rid the hills of refugees after the war. Making the transition to the new home even worse for Ofelia is the fact that her mother is pregnant and the journey to the new home has made her weak and has put her unborn child at risk.
In the tradition of Grimm’s fairy tales, del Toro has crafted an adult horror fantasy like none other. Ofelia travels to different worlds within our own that unravels the dark recesses that lay just on the surface of the known world. By paralleling the fantasy world with that of the real world del Toro crafts a complex narrative that blurs the imagination and defies you not to believe in the unbelievable.
Like his previous film THE DEVIL’S BACKBONE del Toro mixes real world events into his narrative to create an uncanny portrait of life through the eyes of the young. He creates not only an adult-world view for the young but delivers a portrait of childhood and fantasy that we, as adults, may have forgotten. The real world may be bleak but our imaginations are our true salvation. As a filmmaker del Toro is one of the few that can navigate in this arena (Terry Gilliam being and Tim Burton being only two more).
The film is brought to life by frequent del Toro collaborator Guillermo Navarro behind the cinematography and with original music by Javier Navarrete.

Vampire VS Lychenthrope ( Werewolf )
By: Sianey | 20-07-2008
After recently watching Underworld with my partner, I was discussing Vampire movies and how I prefer them to Werewolf movies, he favours Werewolf films. I always find Vampires are portrayed as sensual and sophisticated, intelligent and Adventurous. Always dressed to impress. Yes there are some great Werewolf films, but they are outnumbered, I think, by their Vampire rivals.   My favourites are RazorBladeSmile, Blade 1,2 &3, The Addiction, just to give an example.   Underworld mixed the two film genres quite well I think. Great effects where the Lychanthrope ( Werewolves ) are concerned.   I just wondered, what do people prefer? Vampire or Werewolf?

What is the name of this Horror Movie?
By: meisteruncle | 17-07-2008
Hi, My name is Matt Young. I am in desperate need of information on a movie, from anyone at all! Even guesses great. All information is welcomed and greatly appreciated. Please help! If you can. I am willing to pay up to $30.00 for it, if need be. The Actors Or Producers, Director and Movie name are forgotten. Can not remember the year made. It is old! It is a color movie. It is a Horror Movie.:There is a group of people that go treasure hunting, and stay overnight at a Haunted Castle, during a terrible Rain Storm, with Thunder and lightning. The Castle is Haunted by Ghosts and Demons, and Monsters too! It is a place, where you die, if you are greedy, when you enter! It is a giant maze inside, full of long dark Halls with dead ends. There is a Treasure Room, filled with a table set with a Royal Feast, fit for a King! In this room, you can eat the food, but will die, if you try to take the treasure. Because, the floor, then becomes quicksand, and you sink in it. There is even a room, with a monster, that looks like a Gigantic Spider, and is disguised as a lady! She, looks for men and tries to convince them that she wants to have sex in bed with them! But, if they are fooled and agree! They follow her down a hall, and she suddenly vanishes around the corner. When, They follow her, they end up in her room! She has a Giant Spider Web that they back into. She then turns into a Spider, and drinks their blood! Her web is a Black Silk Dress. And, She has black hair and looks like elvira! My, question, about it is, what is the name of the Movie? I would like to see it, again! I would really love, to buy it on D.V.D. if i could find it somewhere! I think it may be rated R. My Screen name is meisteruncle@aol.com Thank You for Your help, in advance! Matt Young.

The Flash
By: Sean Mcgovern | 01/10/2008
The Flash is viewed in each series to be an immature type of guy, an-easy-go lucky and he thinks that he is a ladies' man. He might be a little to immature but he really looks like an comedian. One good thing about the flash is that he always smile (yeah, a good person always let people see his very bright teeth). He dreamed of being a pop star, but never reached it but instead he'd become a super hero. I know that the 1998 The Flash series shows that he joined the Justice League of Super Heroe
