But one day, his routine is broken when he meets EVE, a search robot sent by humans to check if their home, earth, is safe enough for return.

EVE finds out that Wall-E has accidentally chanced upon the key to the planet’s future and hurries back to space to give this information to the humans. After spending 800 years doing what he was built for, Wall-E finally discovers what he was meant for! He chases after EVE across galaxies, embarking on a great adventure. He is not alone in this journey; a pet cockroach and a team of heroic, malfunctioning and misfit robots accompany him, giving the adventure an interesting turn.
