How long has it been since you hit the road and experiences the intoxicating rush of adrenalin? I am sure it has been years since you last took to the road with your friends without a care in the world. Things have probably changed over time and you have young tykes who cannot sit still for a second without screaming and fidgeting in the back seat.

With this kind of a situation the best way to enjoy a long drive on the highway is to plan ahead and ensure that they are taken care of. No, I am not taking about expensive day care options because surely you want to take them with you! With technology having grown by leaps and bounds taking care of your young ones on a ride is not tough. All you need to do is ensure that you have a car video system.

Yes, these beauties are one of the best things that have happened to cars in the most recent past. You could get this car video system installed in your high-end vehicle or you could ensure that the new vehicle that you buy has a version that comes with a car video system especially if you are purchasing a high-end vehicle.

I decided to invest in a car video system a few years back when I decided to upgrade my car to a mini van. I had to go in for a big family vehicle in any way and I decided on buying one that came with an entertainment feature. You might think that these car video systems are extremely high end and therefore very expensive but I found that they were much less than what I had imagined them to be. It cost me only an additional two grand when I was buying one. Sure, 2K may sound a lot but when you are investing in a car anyways, this additional amount does not hurt that much and it is wise to compromise at some other level if one has to.

What you get when you buy a car video system is a DVD player and a screen to view the wonderful movies in. These days when I venture out onto the highway for a long drive to a friends place I can be rest assured that I will not be subjected to screaming, fighting or irritable fidgeting along the way. The little ones are glued to the screens enjoying a Disney movie on the overhead screen and I am left alone in peace to concentrate on the driving. If you have the luxury of having a spouse who can drive then you can enjoy a god flick on your own when the brats will allow you to watch something of your interest.

So if you are looking at a peaceful drive, you must heed my advice and invest in a car video system. The best option would be to log on and check out the various models and prices on the Internet before actually venturing into the marketplace.

A friend of mine lives in a small village in Africa where he can only get leaded gas. He also has a 1999 accura which has a catalytic converter. Presumably, because he is using leaded gas the "check engine" light is constantly on. The quesion, he has is what is the effect of removing the catalytic converter from the car i.e. will it affect the performance, will it turn off the warning light. Getting unleaded gas, where he lives is out of the question.
