Bodybuilding In College – Tips To Get Started Now!

Dedication and Motivation

Do what works for you! If you want to get big to impress the ladies, by all means use that as a source of inspiration. If you want to impress your friends and family when you go back home, than think of that. Whatever your source of motivation is, think about it constantly, especially when you are trying to get that last rep. This will give you the mental power and focus to stay on task and encouraged. Also, set goals and remind yourself of those goals, they will help keep you in the gym and out of trouble.

Plan ahead
With your busy college schedule, make sure you are thinking about when you can go to the gym a week in advance, think about where you are going to be and whether you will have access to quality foods, and also plan your sleeping time. You will need sleep to grow, but college makes sleep nearly impossible unless you think in advance.

Stock up on Food
Especially if you are a freshman living on campus without a kitchen, make sure you stack up on essential foods that do not require much cooking. Example: Protein powders, bananas, protein bars, milk, yogurt, and cottage cheese, lean deli meats like turkey, vegetables, yams, and microwavable brown rice. There are many choices.

Partying and Drinking
By all means party your brain out since that is what college is for, right? However, keep in mind that chugging down beer every night will give you a nice pot belly, will take away from your sleeping time, dehydrate you, and possibly lower your testosterone. Especially if you are here because you plan to compete one day, drink extremely little. Do not worry about peer pressure, get one of your typical red beer pong cups and fill it with water, no one will know the difference. Partying every once in a while will keep you sane, happy and motivated, but realize that if you are drinking you should be counting your losses.
