Tire Flipping For Fitness

The tire flip has been a strongman event that has become more popular for people to do as a regular workout routine. It has been a test of whole body strength much like the atlas stone. If done correctly the tire flip can be an excellent workout that will really boost your fitness. Tires can now be found at many gyms for their patrons to use.

The tire flip works much the same as doing squats and deadlifts, it brings many muscle groups into play. You can expect it to target the back, chest, shoulders, arms and legs. If you have a workout routine already when you add the tire flip, you will need to work the tire in so you are not overdoing it.

If you are looking for a tire to use, just check around for a place that sells truck tires. They usually have them laying around waiting to be recycled and would more than likely let you take one. You should try one out to see if the weight is good for you before you take it home.

There is a few ways you could work out with tires. You could use a tire that will let you flip for 4 or 5 reps, this would be a great explosive strength developer. Something lighter would let you flip for endurance, maybe flip it 10 or more times. If you want to really develop some power, do a heavy day with a tire you can lift only 1 or 2 times.
