Ava Leigh’s New Single Out on Youtube

Up and coming UK reggae sensation Ava Leigh recently came out with a music video of “Mad About The Boy”, her first official single to come out of her yet to be debuted album, “Turned-On Underground.” If you’re a YouTube surfer who likes catching new artists come out with potential hits on the Net, then this one’s for you.

Ladies, if you’re looking for a theme song for your Mr. (Almost) Right, this is the song for you. “Mad About The Boy” is a cheery declaration of head-over-heels love set to a catchy reggae beat. Ava isn’t shy about singing about love and relationships because she says they’re themes that a lot of people can relate to. This song doesn’t shy away from anything either. Though she admits confusion about why she’s fallen for her guy, she also admits that he’s the constant in her mind. And even if he’s not the perfect guy, she’s not embarrassed to repeatedly express her love for him despite her friends’ opinions. I’m sure the gentlemen out there would just love to hear this sung to them.

The music video sets the mood for love, most appropriately, in an indoor French café and in small neighborhood streets. You don’t see anything that might suggest the characters were actually in Paris, but the assumption might not be far off. Certainly the romance comes off well enough, and lending your imagination to it helps. Shots of playful fun between her and her boyfriend in the street scenes mirror the fun kind of love that she wants evoke in your memories, or maybe make you want to try it out yourself. Couples who love cameras and wacky poses will definitely agree.

Giving tribute to influences by French New Wave director Jean-Luc Godard, we’re made to sense that we’re watching a trailer or a very short film. We see parts of the indoor café scenes through the eyes of Ava and the men sitting in the café. Ava unabashedly sings her love for her guy, at the same time studiously ignoring the men who try to catch her attention. At the end of the video, it’s the one guy who doesn’t give her a second look that she walks up to to leave a memorable impression.

It’s a welcome surprise to hear a reggae vocalist come on to the scene in the form of a good-looking blonde. It will be hard to take your eyes and ears off Ava Leigh during the whole video. She plays teen-girlish well, dressed in a candy-cane striped overcoat during the street scenes. Her smiles and silent laughing shots light up the camera, opposite her rather plain-looking partner. However, most men out there will appreciate the café scenes more. Dressed in a solid red outfit, Ava bears her shoulders midway through the video. Hopefully, this doesn’t detract the male viewers from her vocal talents. She has a voice that’s not just for singing, but carries her passion for reggae well.

You can find the music video of “Mad About The Boy” at Ava Leigh’s music channel. You’ll also find other videos of her live performances at the launch of the NEXT adverstising campaign, which features her cover of “Mas Que Nada.” Both are available on iTunes.

If positive user comments are an indicator of how far a new artist will go, then Virgin Records has a new star in their ranks.

Visa problems seems to have led to the collaboration of Gary Kemp, of Spandau Ballet fame and Carbon Silicon. Carbon Silicon's two Canadian shows were unfortunately cancelled at the last minute to due bass player Leo 'Eezykill' Williams having being refused entry to the country. Despite them allowing former Clash guitarist Mick Jones and, Generation X's Tony James along with drummer Dominic Greensmith, it was clear the gigs couldn't go ahead. Tony James recalls via his blog that he saw Gary Kemp

Male Pattern Baldness

By: Peter Ruppert | 15/10/2008 | Hair Loss
Androgenetic alopecia, or male pattern baldness, is the most common cause of hair loss in men. The name indicates the combination of genetic components and androgen factors in becoming a victim. Men tend to be either genetically predisposed to lose their hair or not. If they are predisposed, the addition of androgens overloading hair follicles will cause the hair loss to begin.
