Building A Singing Group

There is science in music too. The excellent chemistry in science is manifested from the mixture of substances but in music it is through the blend of voices. Usually there are four voice groups in music i.e. the tenor (high male), bass (low male) soprano (high female), and alto (low female).

This is a base to our study as this would help to see how a singing group is formed. When in close knit groups they don't really find it difficult forming members from the acapella groups. For the benefit of the readers I would let them know that an acapella group consists of members who don't use any instrument. These singers completely bank on their ability to produce good music.

They horn on their god given talent and bond with the society. They are very well trained as they know when to sing and when not to.

As the singing group is strictly acapella, they are both orchestra and maestro. They become their own conductor and put in an extra effort to be good listeners for they need to know the cues and then sing to that point.

The members of the group are asked to sing solo as this is a part of the exercise. When one member does manage to sing a solo it builds on the confidence. The next step after solo is to sing a duet. To be able to sing a duet is considered as a perfect launch pad. It helps in the basic step of voice blending. When the members are paired they are told which part they would sing. The work of the director is meticulous as he positions everyone on stage in such a way that every single performer is visible. So when the music conductor does his bit in trying to position the singers he has to keep in mind that each and every voice is utilized and their chemistry is shown through the performance they put in.

The strong bonding helps them to sing their part and feel it. The relationship that develops between the performer are expressed in the excellent co-ordination that they show.

There is a show of commitment, passion and enthusiasm when they put up a performance. And this perfect symphony forms music to everyone's ear.

As a conductor if you feel that your singing group is well versed in their singing, then you should join competitions. These competitions are first local and then they become regional. The competitions are also carried out nationwide which searches for the best singing group.

The best part about the singing group is that you are allowed to do something that you love doing. In the process of doing what you like you actually get to earn money. Not only do earn money but you also get recognition which is like the icing on the cake. So don't sit back home, is you have the talent to sing then harness it. As through music you can reach god.
