Buying you Glastonbury, V Fesitval, T in the Park and Reading Tickets

Before you can even think about planning this years festival trip, you need to make sure you can get a ticket! This becomes more and more difficult every year as festivals become more popular and demand increases. Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can really do to guarantee that you get a ticket, but there are a number of ways to increase your chances. Last year, all of the most popular festivals sold out in a matter of hours, some in a matter of minutes.

Glastonbury in particular is very difficult to get hold of tickets for, with demand outstripping supply by more than 5 to 1. Even though capacity is expected to be increased for this years Glastonbury Festival, securing a ticket is still going to be difficult. The organisers have this year implemented a new and unique ticketing system, requiring anyone who wants a ticket to register in advance, with tickets being printed with the purchasers photo. They believe that this will stop tickets being resold on the secondary market but only time will tell if it is a success.

The following steps look at the main ways in which you can buy your ticket, when to buy, where from and what you can do if you don’t get a ticket.

So where to start? Firstly, here are the dates for all the 2007 festivals we’ll be covering. There are (of course) other festivals, however within the pages of this book, I’ll be looking specifically at the following, as these are the festivals that are likely to sell out within hours or even minutes of going on sale. That said, a lot of the information in this book may be useful for most of the other music festivals and concerts too.

V Festival: (Stafford & Chelmsford): 18th/19th August

Reading & Leeds Festival: August bank holiday weekend

Glastonbury Festival: 22 – 24 June

• T in the Park: 7th – 8th July 2007

• Isle of Wight Festival: 8th – 10th June

• Download Festival: 8th – 10th June
