John Farnham Whispering Jack 25th Anniversary Tour in Australia

John Peter Farnham is a well-known, English-born Australian pop singer. Farnham became a teen pop idol in 1964 and enjoyed that heady status until 1979. Since then he has honed his musical career, and crafted himself as a successful contemporary adult singer. Most of Farnham's success has been as a solo artist, with the exception of a brief stint as the lead singer with the Little River Band. His break-through solo single, "You're the Voice," peaked at number one on the Australian singles charts, and catapulted him into super star status. "Whispering Jack," the album associated with this hit single, was in the number one position on the charts for an unprecedented 25 weeks, and is the highest-selling Australian album ever.

No wonder Australia is in a stir with the announcement of the anniversary tour of John Farnham. This tour will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the hit album "Whispering Jack," first released in 1986. Australian audiences will be favoured to see the performance of the entire "Whispering Jack" album for the very first time. One of the performances that inspired Farnham to get back to concert tour was the thrill he felt and the ovation he received performing one of his popular hits, "You're the Voice," with Coldplay at the Sydney Sound Relief concert.

This 61 year old favourite of the Australian music scene is set to make a come-back that will not soon be forgotten. In conjunction with the up-coming tour, Sony BMG is planning to release a 25th Anniversary edition of the "Whispering Jack" album which will include a bonus acoustic hits disc.

To the delight of a welcoming audience John Farnham and his band will perform the first half of the show acoustically. This will feature some very special versions of his greatest hits and will be performed like never been heard before.

Performances can be seen at the Adelaide Theatre, Sydney State Theatre, Brisbane's QPAC Theatre, Melbourne's Palais Theatre, and the Burswood Theatre in Perth.
