Making Music with Your Kids

According to legend, Amphion built Thebes by the music of his lute.  Amphion’s lute playing was so melodious that the stones danced into walls and houses voluntarily.  As anyone involved in music can tell, the reason why he or she sings and plays is because of the way it makes him or her feel.  Some people remember how they wanted to learn how to play the guitar or the drums when they were young.  Now that they are a bit older, they wanted to pursue their dream to play these instruments.  A few even bought an expensive acoustic guitar or a drum set out of their easy personal loans, or enrolled in music courses with the money so they would start learning and playing their beloved instruments.

A person musicality manifests during childhood.  Music is a vital part of a child’s life.  The preschool years, around three to seven years, are a good time for experiencing music in appropriate ways.  Preschool is the best time to enrich the emotional development of children.  During their young age, they should be given opportunities to experience and express their feelings through music.  This could start with playing with rhythm instruments such as drums, xylophones, maracas, and even spoons.  For parents, they should consider some simple musical instruments for their little children, such as bells, rhythm sticks, and shakers.  For older children, parents can take out an online payday loan to buy an electronic keyboard, so the kids can experience a wide-range of sounds, or a drum set, so they learn how to create rhythm or pattern.

Other than giving them instruments they could play with, parents must make it a point to encourage and nurture the musical experiences of their children.  Here are some important things to remember:

  • Sing along with CDs at home.  When children see their parents enjoying something with them, they would be more motivated to do or try it.
  • Expose children to a variety of types of musical performances, such as bands, choirs, solos, and orchestras.
  • Attend live musical performances.  Letting children attend rehearsals are recommended because they could be more active and enjoy the music with the        peers.
  • Invite older children to play or sing for young ones.  Young children, like toddlers, appreciate the music made by other children.

Studies are made between the connection of music and thinking among children.  According to these, listening to music helps in the development of thinking abilities and emotional growth.  That is the reason why it is important for children to be enrich by music as they grow and achieve their full potential.

Sir Winston Churchill once said something about doing business: “Some people regard private enterprise as a predatory tiger to be shot. Others look on it as a cow they can milk. Not enough people see it as a healthy horse pulling a sturdy wagon.” One of the most important, the most difficult, and even the most life-changing decisions a fledgling entrepreneur or a small business owner could make is choosing the right business partner.

“Strides in communication now permit us to talk with people around the globe, but cannot bridge the ever-widening gaps within our own families.” This was pointed out by a famous actress to her manager. Indeed, her keen observation presents an apt truth today: "Even with huge advances in technology, there are still big problems in communication."
