Michael Jackson, above all, was the loving parent of three children, Prince Michael, age 12, Paris Michael, age 11, and the youngest, Prince Michael II (also known as "Blanket" which Jackson himself described as a term meaning "blessing" and "protection"). He also leaves a very large, loving family, who in mourning have had to survive the crush of media and public attention as they search for solace, serious contemplation, and a burial place for this modern icon.

Michael Jackson was perhaps the most extraordinary entertainer of our time. His compelling stage presence encompassed a studious application of the dance moves of James Brown, Fred Astaire, Elvis Presley and Bob Fosse. His music videos hearkened back to films like "West Side Story", and John Travolta in "Saturday Night Fever". Jackson's career was surrounded by controversy and out of which grew his signature moves, the "moonwalk", dancing on his toes like a ballet impressario, and the odd 
grabbing and grinding of his crotch as the steady rhythms dictated to his fascinating brain.

As the world mourned Mr. Jackson's passing during the last week, many gatherings of crowds, seemingly in denial, smiled and danced to the familiar music of the young Jackson to his latest, Grammy Award tunes that inspired millions.


Throughout history,Jackson's controversial life and times and descent into an early death will be played out in public by the memory of his turbulent childhood, his ever-changing personage, the Neverland Ranch, his will and testament,court proceedings, drug addiction, the surrogate mothers, and ultimately, the money.

Michael Jackson will be remembered for his final words to many of the people he spoke with before his death-his family, the people he worked with, and to his beloved fans, "I love you".
